Our young learners had so much fun learning about cameras and photography and your donation is what made it possible. Students explored different types of cameras including digital camera and video cameras bought with your generous donations. We also had a photographer visit our classroom and bring some older film based cameras for students to observe, try and explore.\r\n\r\nStudents learned how to use a camera and were given multiple opportunities to take their own photos. We also explored what makes a good photo and practiced using some of the available filters and editing tools on each of the cameras donated. \r\n\r\nFor our final project, students went through their library of photos, chose two of their favorites, and edited the photos. We printed all the chosen photos, framed them and chose where to hang them in the classroom to create a gallery. Once our gallery was complete we invited families in to be given special tours by the students of our completed photo gallery. \r\n\r\nI learned this fall, that one student entered their photo into the local county fair and won the viewer's choice award. They brought it in to show me at the start of this school year and many families returning this fall commented on how much fun it was to have their student take photos over the summer during vacation. Thanks to your donations, students have learned all about cameras and photography and created an ongoing passion for photography. We hope to use them again this year with our new class of students and for many years to come!
