Every Friday the students get to choose their activity. They all wanted to use the equipment so badly that they decided to split the gym in two and use the new basketballs in a game of basketball and then on the opposite side of the gym they were playing volleyball and working on different volleyball skills with the new volleyballs.\r\n\r\nMiddle school can be hard to have a lot of student buy in to what we are doing and why we are doing it. When there is proper and nice equipment to work with, the students are much more likely to be engaged with the learning and take ownership in participation. The students are able to complete all the different activities and group games with proper equipment.\r\nThe students were quite literally jumping up and down when they saw the brand new basketballs on the basketball cart. With a very small budget and lowering enrollment, there are not a lot of funds for \"extras.\"\r\n\r\nThe funding of this project allows both myself as a teacher and a leader as well as the students to have access to a colored printer and nice paper. While these probably seem like small things, they go a long way. \r\n\r\nStudents work hard on health projects and different projects, they lack luster when they can't see them come to life in color. They shared the same excitement seeing the new basketballs. The other basketballs we had were rubber and really not great quality. Our old white board was cracked and dented and permanently ruined by pens and permanent markers. It was attached to a bulletin board that had graffiti and parts ripped apart, needless to say it was an eye sore and also unusable in the space.\r\n\r\nThanks to your generous donation, we now have beautiful new white boards up and on display. These white boards will be served in a variety of ways.
