Students rushed in, wide-eyed and curious, eager to explore the comfy green chairs, soft floor pillows, and our new low table setup. Some children immediately gravitated toward the floor pillows, curling up with books or using them as cozy spots during group time. Others tried out the wobble chairs or the low green seats, excited to have a choice in where and how they learn. One student with sensory needs said, \"This pillow feels like a cloud, I want to sit here every day!\" It was clear right away that this wasn't just new furniture, it was a tool that helped each child feel more at home and in control of their space.\r\n\r\nWe now use these resources every day for reading groups, small projects, and even during quiet reflection time. When we worked on our emotions unit, students naturally chose spots that matched how they were feeling. Some needed stillness and quiet, others needed a little room to fidget and move. The flexibility has made a noticeable difference in how engaged and focused they are. Even transitions are smoother now because students know they have safe, comforting places to return to. It's been incredible to witness their independence and confidence grow just by being able to choose where to sit and how they work best.\r\n\r\nThanks to your support, our classroom is now a more inclusive and supportive environment. Our next steps include creating \"cozy corners\" with feelings charts and sensory tools, so students can pair their seating choices with emotional self-regulation strategies. You've helped us take a big step toward a more responsive and empowering classroom, and we couldn't be more grateful.","fullyFundedDate":1691031414862,"projectUrl":"project/adaptive-seating-for-non-profit-preschoo/7499135/","projectTitle":"Adaptive Seating for Non-Profit Preschool","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Ashley","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-10_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9100919"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_130959","usesÐǿմ«Ã½":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":null,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":56,"percentAsian":6,"percentBlack":2,"percentWhite":68,"percentIndigenous":1,"percentLatinx":12,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"US Census Data for the surrounding geographic area","gradesServed":"Not specified","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"Census ZCTA","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"UNCLASSIFIED","ncesMetroType":null},"inStateSupporters":100.0,"schoolId":130959,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Educational Opportunities for Children Head Start on @Ðǿմ«Ã½:","schoolName":"Educational Opportunities for Children Head Start","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/washington/office-of-head-start/educational-opportunities-for-children-head-start/130959"}
