Thanks to your generous donation, we have taken a significant step toward achieving that goal by offering flexible seating options. Students and staff alike have expressed gratitude for the purchased materials and have already noticed positive changes in the learning environment.\r\n\r\nThe students have shown great enthusiasm for the wobble cushions and desk bands. Sitting still during instructional time can be challenging for many students, especially those with varied disabilities. Before receiving these donated materials, many children struggled to remain seated and focus on instruction. Now that they have access to flexible seating resources, we have seen a significant increase in attention and engagement. Rather than roaming the room or leaning back in their chairs (a safety hazard), students can sit up tall, stay at their desks to follow along with instruction, complete their work, and eagerly pick out their cushion color for the day. In addition to the academic benefits, it has been wonderful to see the excitement and joy students show when using these resources.\r\n\r\nAs an educator, I have noticed an overwhelmingly positive change in the room. Students feel supported, and distractions have been reduced significantly. Through my lens, the desk bands have had the greatest impact. As an educator with ADD, foot tapping is one of the most challenging distractions for me to cope with—and our students are definitely enthusiastic foot-tappers. Thanks to the desk bands, students are now able to replicate that bouncing movement silently. This has been incredibly helpful for me as a teacher. Students have also expressed sincere gratitude for these materials, as they are able to exert the energy their bodies need without fear of being called out by staff or peers.\r\n\r\nYour generosity has made a meaningful difference, and we are truly grateful for your support of our students' success.\r\nUltimately, we are all reaping the benefits of the resources you so kindly funded, and we cannot thank you enough!","fullyFundedDate":1755719205877,"projectUrl":"project/inclusivity-through-accommodated-seating/9411622/","projectTitle":"Inclusivity Through Accommodated Seating!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. White","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10055487_orig.jpg?crop=360,360,x0,y106&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1749764337911","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10055487"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_60187","usesÐǿմ«Ã½":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":763,"numTeachers":37,"percentFrplEligible":38,"percentAsian":3,"percentBlack":3,"percentWhite":64,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":19,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"6 - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"20.6:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_SMALL"},"inStateSupporters":42.1,"schoolId":60187,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about George Washington Bush Middle School on @Ðǿմ«Ã½:","schoolName":"George Washington Bush Middle School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/washington/tumwater-school-district/george-washington-bush-mid-school/60187"}
