Having a full class set of novels transformed our reading experience. My students were able to follow along closely during our daily read-aloud, which led to rich discussions about character development, theme, and the emotional growth of the characters. Even the hesitant readers were so invested in the story, they wanted to read aloud too. Your gift allowed every student to feel included and engaged as readers.\r\n\r\nAfter finishing the book, we celebrated in true Winn-Dixie fashion with a class party inspired by the joyful gathering at the end of the story. Students were thrilled to watch the movie afterward, pointing out details that connected with, or differed from the novel. Comparing the book and the movie helped them think deeply and critically about storytelling choices. In addition to the books, we also received several chess sets and puzzles. These have quickly become a favorite in our classroom. Students choose them during indoor recess, during our after-school program, and even as a quiet activity when they finish their work early. I love being able to offer them fun activities that help them learn.\r\n\r\nYour generosity brought excitement, connection, and meaningful learning to our classroom. Because of your generosity, my class had incredible opportunities to learn through hands-on exploration. The 3D human body torso was a favorite. Students were fascinated as they took it apart, studied each organ, and then reassembled it. We studied 5 human body systems for our informational writing unit. It made learning about anatomy come alive in a way that no textbook could.\r\n\r\nAnother highlight was the construction kits. They dove right in, working together to design, build, and problem-solve. These activities sparked so much creativity and curiosity, and it was wonderful to see the excitement on their faces as their projects came to life.\r\n\r\nYour support makes a real difference in my classroom.
