An initial safety and how to lesson was all it took, and now even my youngest students are finding ways to use the tools during engineering projects. The tools are handy, well made, and easy to use. The rechargeable batteries have been such a lifesaver. We are never without AA and AAA batteries now. My 1st graders have been learning about light and shadows. Keeping 25 flashlights powered is usually rather expensive. But not this year, thanks to you and your generosity! As my older student enter a unit on electricity after spring break, I know we will continue to put the batteries to good use. We use these binders every day in our class. They are holding up really well. Research shows that repeated reading is a great way to improve student reading. My students practice each day with their fluency passages. They also really love using sand timers to time themselves. \r\n We are using these binders during our UFLI time. Students are divided into small groups based on their current reading ability. Students are able to use their binders for shared and independent reading. The students are really enjoying the practice, and I am enjoying seeing their excellent progress.
