So far we have completed several Science /STEM activities. We have completed creating structures with toothpicks and mini marshmallows and toothpicks and gumdrops. The students had to work with a partner to complete these. It was a great experience of preplanning together and working on a team. They really enjoyed this activity.\r\n\r\nAnother project we tried was building a structure with straws and masking tape that is able to hold a paper cup filled with pennies. Whoever used the most pennies with their structure still standing won. This was hilarious! Once they achieved their goal I allowed them take it a little bit further and they started adding more masking tape and taping the structure to the desk. They got carried away, but had a great time!\r\n\r\nThe final thing we did in class was to make slime. The use of the materials for this would have been costly and I appreciate your contribution. It was messy and they loved it. They were excited that they got to take the slime home once we were finished. I am looking into a better recipe for next year. I truly appreciate your generous donation and look forward to starting our next project!","fullyFundedDate":1760662145865,"projectUrl":"project/hands-on-stem-adventures-igniting-curio/9810689/","projectTitle":"Hands-On STEM Adventures: Igniting Curiosity Through Exploration!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Perry","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10061910_orig.jpg?crop=956,956,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1760047787943","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10061910"},{"teacherId":10043116,"projectId":9377497,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous donations of the sublimation heat press tumbler, drawing supplies, and heat press tumbler accessories. It is so exciting to have the tools you need to make learning more concrete. As a first grade teacher, I work with students are being exposed to math concepts for the first time. They need an array of materials to solidify their understanding. \r\n\r\nI have started using many of these materials in my small learning groups so that students get more time with the hands on materials. I asked for different materials that cover multiple math concepts so that I can use them throughout the year. One of my favorite moments was when a group of students settled onto the bench together and started talking about their characters all on their own.
