We started our Essentials closet this year, with help from generous donors like you. We found a need to provide these items, as many of our students live in extreme poverty or find themselves homless and couch surfing at times. We know the importantance of good hygiene can help manage physical changes from puberty, prevent infections, and boost social confidence. Good hygiene helps teens feel comfortable, prevents body odor and acne, and fosters independence while setting lifelong health habits. When asked what items they would like to see in the Essentials closet, the students asked for towels, pimple patches, chap stick, and deodorant. Because of you we were able to provide these things for them. \r\n\r\nWe now have an option where students can order these items online in our school store free of charge, and these items will be delivered to them. This way they do not have to feel embarassed in asking for them. Thank you so much for caring about the well being of our students. Most can't afford them, don't have running water, or don't have transportation to get the necessary items. Being able to have a closet with these item is so amazing and we are so grateful to you. They have been learning how to use the graphing features, statistics features, and many other features that are made easier with these calculators. My freshmen students have also been using the calculators, and they are more motivated to learn about math using the \"cool, fancy\" calculators. \r\n\r\nAs a district, we are very grateful to you and the opportunity you have given our students. The majority of our students are from low-income homes, and our district is facing budget restraints.
