This has been a goal of mine ever since our art program was cut due to a lack of funding. It was difficult to incorporate art when all the supplies had to come out of my own pocket. With the supplies that you provided for me, I have been able to take math, literacy, science, and social studies lessons that are based on state standards and incorporate fulfilling art projects while still meeting high rigor expectations. I have been able to incorporate art into my literacy blocks. Through rich children's literature and the self expression that comes through art, my students explored literacy, art, sculpting, and culture in a whole new way. An example of this is reading the book Philippe in Monet's Garden to my students. We then did a short study of Claude Monet and his style of painting. Then students painted their own Monet Garden using some of the techniques that they learned from their study of Claude Monet. The paint and canvases that you purchased made this rich, hands-on exploration possible. Then they sculpted their own frog to incorporate into the garden that they painted. They used the modeling clay you provided to add this extension to their art project. Thank you for giving me the resources to tap into my student's creativity. It has increased their love for learning. \r\n\r\n My students also were able to put together meaningful gifts for their parents using the paints and brushes. They created Handprint calendars. They turned out beautiful and the students took so much pride in something that their parents would use and enjoy for the whole year. These are only a couple of examples of the great things that are happening in my classroom because of your donation. I am excited to have the materials needed to continue this artistic approach to learning.\r\n\r\n Your contribution and generosity are greatly appreciated and have had a direct impact on student learning and growth. Not all students excel and grow the same way and you have given me the opportunity to help learners who thrive when they are able to learn about and express themselves through art.","fullyFundedDate":1763235794568,"projectUrl":"project/create-art/9698490/","projectTitle":"Create Art","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Morris","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-9_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10209956"},{"teacherId":9500707,"projectId":9644884,"letterContent":"I want to extend my heartfelt thanks for your incredible gift of the Lettuce Grow Farmstand for our classroom. Your generosity has brought so much excitement, curiosity, and hands-on learning into our daily routine, and I cannot overstate the positive impact it has had on my students.\r\n\r\nOne of the most rewarding outcomes has been watching students try vegetables they had never tasted before—or even believed they would like. Many have discovered new favorites and gained a sense of pride knowing they helped grow the food themselves. This experience has opened doors to conversations about sustainability, and healthy habits in a way that feels natural and exciting to them. They have even tried garlic chives!!!\r\n\r\nYour support has created meaningful learning moments that will stick with my students for years to come. It is so amazing to be able to make this memorable and watching students get excited about the different seeds and analyzing prior to planting, got everyone excited. My students are so into the plant cycle and are constantly asking questions and wanting to learn more! This specialized support allows us to move beyond textbooks and worksheets and engage in truly meaningful, tangible, hands on learning. Such opportunities are invaluable. Your support has provided my 2nd-grade students with an amazing, hands-on opportunity to become real-life scientists!\r\n\r\nThe new Bio Orb materials are central to our unit on ecosystems and life cycles. We haven't got it fully set up yet because we are using donated supplies for the base, like rocks and plants to build our miniature world. But we are in the process!\r\n\r\nThe reaction was pure awe and excitement! When I unpacked the orb and it's components—the room buzzed with chatter. The students immediately started making assumptions and predictions on what they wanted to see inside. They wondered: \"How is the water going to move without us watering it?\" Or \"What climate might be best for us to sustain in our room?\". The most immediate reaction was the deep curiosity and a sense of ownership. These materials turned our regular science lesson into a magical, see-through window into nature. And to watch my students eyes glow and be over the moon to get start watching and learning about science is thrilling. \r\n\r\nOur first steps will be to complete and establish the terrarium. Then we will focus on data collection and observation through building long-term scientists.","fullyFundedDate":1746785832683,"projectUrl":"project/hands-on-habitat/9264536/","projectTitle":"Hands-On Habitat","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Scott","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9552341_orig.png?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1745296452746","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/msjuliascott"},{"teacherId":9500707,"projectId":8978181,"letterContent":"I want to write a THANK YOU full of gratitude for privacy fences, noise cancelling headphones, and technology headphones.
