The students loved growing our own food in the classroom and they continue to use these materials year after year. It was not just one class of students who was impacted by your generous donation, but multiple classes, plus each of their future families as these students now know the benefit of growing and eating healthy greens and foods, even in Alaska. Our short outdoor growing season will no longer limit these students in being able to grow healthy food for themselves or their families.\r\nWith the growing tower we have grown multiple types of lettuce, kale, peppers, tomatoes, carrots, and other vegetables. We also grew herbs such as cilantro, thyme, basil, chives, and parsley. With the smaller greenhouses and grow lights, we started multiple types of trees, plus sunflowers and other flowers. Many of these plants were transplanted outdoors into our community garden once the snow melted. \r\nThank you very much for helping my students grow as they grew greens in our classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1693190283082,"projectUrl":"project/growing-greens-and-thoughts-in-the-last/7608043/","projectTitle":"Growing Greens and Thoughts in the Last Frontier","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Dolan","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp4805365_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1508380907939","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/4805365"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_49730","usesÐǿմ«Ã½":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":325,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":27,"percentAsian":3,"percentBlack":1,"percentWhite":56,"percentIndigenous":9,"percentLatinx":9,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 6","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"TOWN","ncesMetroType":"TOWN_FRINGE"},"inStateSupporters":76.5,"schoolId":49730,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Eagle River Elementary School on @Ðǿմ«Ã½:","schoolName":"Eagle River Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/alaska/anchorage-school-district/eagle-river-elementary-school/49730"}
