This has been a tremendous help to have the No Fear versions of Shakespeare plays so they can read the story in language that is accessible to them. You can tell they have enjoyed it as we have discussed events in the story.\r\n\r\nNext semester my seniors should be using the Hamlet book you helped us get copies of. Before your donation, our \"basketballs\" looked like they'd been rescued from a dog park. Flat, sad, and when you tried to dribble, they made a noise like somebody dropping a baked potato on the floor. My students would look at me like, \"Coach, are we playing basketball or hacky sack?\"\r\n\r\nThen your gift showed up. Brand new basketballs. Shiny, bouncy, smelling like hope and fresh rubber. When the kids saw them, it was like Christmas morning and Beyoncé had delivered the presents personally. One kid hugged a ball like it was his long-lost cousin from Mexico.\r\n\r\nSince then, the energy has been electric. We used the basketballs for a project on teamwork and trust. No boring lectures, just passing drills, plays, and learning the fine art of not acting like ball hogs. One of my quietest students hit a three pointer, and the class stormed the court like we had just won March Madness. For that moment, everybody was a superstar. Even me, running around trying not to throw up my cafeteria burrito.\r\n\r\nNext steps? We're taking what we learn on the court—communication, patience, resilience and using it in the classroom. The students are building their own \"playbooks\" for life goals: college, careers, and surviving finals without crying in the bathroom. These kids are learning that teamwork is not just about throwing alley-oops, it's about lifting each other up, even when life throws you a brick.\r\n\r\nBottom line: You didn't just give us basketballs. You gave us laughter, confidence, and a reason to believe in ourselves.
