This has been a tremendous help to have the No Fear versions of Shakespeare plays so they can read the story in language that is accessible to them. You can tell they have enjoyed it as we have discussed events in the story.\r\n\r\nNext semester my seniors should be using the Hamlet book you helped us get copies of. They will do a multi-genre project (non-fiction writing, creative writing, art, etc.) where they choose multiple, mini projects to do about themes and/or characters in the book.\r\n\r\nThank you for financial donation to help us secure these texts and give our students these opportunities.","fullyFundedDate":1755015533995,"projectUrl":"project/great-works-of-literature-for-our-studen/9519427/","projectTitle":"Great Works of Literature for our Students!","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Turley","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10102588_orig.png?crop=830,830,x128,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1754009377119","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10102588"},{"teacherId":8365063,"projectId":9336946,"letterContent":"Real talk. Before your donation, our \"basketballs\" looked like they'd been rescued from a dog park. Flat, sad, and when you tried to dribble, they made a noise like somebody dropping a baked potato on the floor. My students would look at me like, \"Coach, are we playing basketball or hacky sack?\"\r\n\r\nThen your gift showed up. Brand new basketballs. Shiny, bouncy, smelling like hope and fresh rubber. When the kids saw them, it was like Christmas morning and Beyoncé had delivered the presents personally. One kid hugged a ball like it was his long-lost cousin from Mexico.\r\n\r\nSince then, the energy has been electric. We used the basketballs for a project on teamwork and trust. No boring lectures, just passing drills, plays, and learning the fine art of not acting like ball hogs. One of my quietest students hit a three pointer, and the class stormed the court like we had just won March Madness. For that moment, everybody was a superstar. Even me, running around trying not to throw up my cafeteria burrito.\r\n\r\nNext steps? We're taking what we learn on the court—communication, patience, resilience and using it in the classroom. The students are building their own \"playbooks\" for life goals: college, careers, and surviving finals without crying in the bathroom. These kids are learning that teamwork is not just about throwing alley-oops, it's about lifting each other up, even when life throws you a brick.\r\n\r\nBottom line: You didn't just give us basketballs. You gave us laughter, confidence, and a reason to believe in ourselves. And maybe, just maybe, you saved me from having to hear another student say, \"Coach, this ball is more tired than you.\"\r\n\r\nGracias from the bottom of our sore legs and happy hearts,","fullyFundedDate":1747555504335,"projectUrl":"project/bounce-back-bring-the-game-to-life/9336946/","projectTitle":"Bounce Back: Bring the Game to Life!","teacherDisplayName":"Coach Malaby","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8365063_orig.png?crop=426,426,x0,y36&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1661448600494","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8365063"},{"teacherId":9341033,"projectId":8882360,"letterContent":"Thanks to your generous support, this project has made a significant and lasting impact on our students by providing critical medical supplies that were previously out of reach.\r\n\r\nWith your contributions, these supplies have transformed the way our students learn — giving them the confidence, safety, and practical experience they need to succeed in their high school day. \r\n\r\nYour donations have improved the quality of their education and health. The original item we requested a classroom cart for organizing materials and it was out of stock for a while. We decided to use the funds instead to purchase the Mattel Games Blokus XL Strategy Board Game. This game has brought so much joy and excitement to our classroom! Students have used it during breaks and group time, and it has sparked both strategic thinking and meaningful connections. I've seen students bond, collaborate, and even form new friendships while playing. The game challenges their thinking while promoting teamwork and respectful competition.\r\n\r\nWe are incredibly grateful to have this new resource that not only supports critical thinking but also strengthens our classroom culture. My students walked in, eyes wide, taking in the barbells, bumper plates, and squat racks. \"Is this really for us?\" they asked. And I smiled and said, \"Oh yeah, baby—this right here is your moment, your ring, your shot to shine.\"\r\n\r\nSince then, that equipment has become more than just metal and rubber—it's become a stage for transformation. One of my proudest moments came when a quiet student, someone who usually fades into the background, stepped under that bar. He lifted it with everything he had, and when he racked it, the room exploded with cheers. That's what this is all about—building strength, confidence, and pride, just like Dusty Rhodes used to say: \"I've wined and dined with kings and queens, and I've slept in alleys and dined on pork and beans\"—and still came out swingin'. That's the kind of grit we're learning in this gym.\r\n\r\nUp next, we're launching a student-led fitness challenge where everyone sets personal goals and supports each other through every rep. We're focusing on form, safety, and most of all, self-belief. Thanks to your generosity, our students are discovering their power—not just in how much they can lift, but in how far they can go. Thank you for believing in them. You've helped us turn dreams into reality.","fullyFundedDate":1735933830521,"projectUrl":"project/iron-resolve-empowering-future-first-re/8815954/","projectTitle":"Iron Resolve: Empowering Future First Responders with Innovative Squat Racks","teacherDisplayName":"Coach Malaby","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8365063_orig.png?crop=426,426,x0,y36&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1661448600494","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8365063"},{"teacherId":8365063,"projectId":8844751,"letterContent":"Dear Generous Donors, \r\n\r\nThank you so much for your incredible support in providing bikes for our students! The excitement was immediate—when they first saw the bikes, their faces lit up with pure joy and curiosity. These bikes have become an essential tool in our classroom, helping students build confidence, teamwork, and resilience. One of the most memorable moments so far was watching students work together to set up a bike safety course, taking turns leading and coaching one another. It's been amazing to see them develop not only physical skills but also problem-solving and communication abilities through this hands-on experience. \r\n\r\nLooking ahead, we are incorporating these bikes into our lessons on health, wellness, and goal setting. Students are tracking their riding progress and discussing the benefits of physical activity on mental health. We're also planning a community ride where students can showcase their skills while promoting an active lifestyle. Your generosity has truly made a lasting impact, providing opportunities for learning that go beyond the classroom.
