Our new class set of calculators is already making a meaningful impact in our math classroom. In my classroom, calculators play a special role—they help students focus on understanding concepts rather than getting stuck on basic computation. Having a full class set ensures that every student has access to the same tools, creating an even playing field for those who may struggle with mental math or need extra support. This allows them to spend more time engaging deeply with math concepts, problem-solving, and building confidence.\r\n\r\nThe excitement these calculators have brought to the classroom has been wonderful. Students appreciate having reliable devices that they can use every day, and they feel more supported as they work through challenging problems. The calculators allow them to check their reasoning, explore new skills like square roots, and take on more complex tasks without feeling discouraged.\r\n\r\nSeveral students who used to hesitate during multi-step problems have especially been grateful for the calculators. One student who often felt anxious about making simple mistakes now participates more confidently, saying that the calculator helps them \"finally focus on the math part.\" Tools like these don't replace learning—they empower students to access it fully. Thank you for investing in their success and helping every learner feel capable and supported.","fullyFundedDate":1756098928441,"projectUrl":"project/calculating-success-help-my-students-ex/9549743/","projectTitle":"Calculating Success: Help My Students Excel in Math!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Diaz","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-1_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9823200"},{"teacherId":9772747,"projectId":9541343,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for the supplies. All the paper to do their work with extra space is helping the students.\r\n The speaker works great in the classroom. I play music as they are working on the assignment. Since its arrival, it has become an essential part of our daily routine, providing a calming and supportive resource for our students. Many of our students experience sensory processing challenges, and the massage chair has been a game-changer in helping them regulate their emotions. Whenever a student feels overwhelmed or frustrated, a few minutes in the chair helps them reset, making it easier for them to focus and engage in their learning activities. We have also incorporated the chair as a reward system, encouraging students to stay on task and complete their assignments with the incentive of relaxation time.\r\n\r\nThe excitement on our students' faces when they first saw the massage chair was priceless! They were eager to try it out, and once they did, they quickly realized how much it helped them feel more at ease. Some students, who previously struggled with transitions or long periods of focus, have shown noticeable improvements in their ability to manage stress and stay engaged in classroom activities. The joy and comfort the chair has provided have exceeded our expectations, and it has truly made a difference in their daily school experience.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, we are excited to see how the massage chair continues to support our students' growth. Our district has taken notice of its positive impact and is interested in collecting data to determine whether similar chairs should be placed in other schools as a therapeutic resource. This could mean that many more students across the district will benefit from the same comfort and sensory support that our classroom has experienced. Thanks to your kindness, our students are happier, more focused, and better equipped to handle their day. By working closely with the photography class, students had the unique opportunity to restore and share cherished images of their loved ones who have passed, displaying them on the altar as a heartfelt tribute. This initiative created a meaningful space for students to grieve, honor memories, and begin their healing journey. Additionally, the inclusion of colorful handmade flowers, crafted by students in commemoration of their loved ones, added a deeply personal touch to the altar, making it a vibrant, communal centerpiece that honored the tradition and its importance.\r\n\r\nThis project not only supported individual healing but also celebrated diversity and inclusion within our school. By involving Spanish classes, students had the chance to witness an authentic altar setup and actively participate in building it with the donated materials, such as large paper, markers, and whiteboards. This interactive experience helped enrich their understanding of this important cultural celebration while allowing them to share their own creative ideas. The collaboration between departments and students highlighted the power of shared traditions in bringing people together and created a space where our community could reflect, celebrate life, and deepen their appreciation of diverse cultures.","fullyFundedDate":1728997565896,"projectUrl":"project/mental-health-and-dia-de-los-muertos/8872818/","projectTitle":"Mental Health and Dia de los Muertos","teacherDisplayName":"Sra.
