Our students have enjoyed using the exercise equipment. It has helped our students strengthen their arms which has enabled them to more effectively use their wheelchairs and help with hygiene needs. This has increased their independence a great deal.\r\nIn addition, the composter has been a wonderful companion to our sustainability project that we do throughout the school year. Students also utilize the composter to help maintain our garden throughout the school year. Students understand how food and garden waste help the soil remain vitamin rich so our plants grow and produce all year round. Since we did not have a classroom printer, our students were unable to print their writings and other work they complete on their classroom iPads. Since receiving our printer from Donors Choose, our students are now able to print their projects. Our students are using an adaptive writing app called Snap Type. This app allows students to take a picture of a document and type on it using the adaptive tools inside the app. Currently we are learning how to write letters. We are writing letters to our school pen pals. Students were so excited today when they were able to print their work and mail it to their pen pals.
