They were anxiously waiting for me to build the goal posts so they could play. The goal posts came with various nets so the students decided they were okay with leaving them bare that way they could move the goal around depending on the game size. \r\n\r\nThe goal posts were put into use during the primary recesses. Our community really appreciated all of your donations and contributions. \r\n\r\nUnfortunately, at some point during this recent week, the goal posts were broken. As my next step, I will try to fix them as best as possible. The students still have their soccer ball but I hope that moving forward they learn to be more responsible. I hope they take this a learning opportunity to take care of their things, especially if they were given to them by community members. \r\nDespite this recent incident, the students and I are beyond thankful for your contributions to our school!","fullyFundedDate":1758762799656,"projectUrl":"project/kickstart-the-game/9753289/","projectTitle":"Kickstart the Game","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. J Davila","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9799925_orig.jpg?crop=984,984,x568,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1753745450217","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9799925"},{"teacherId":9923191,"projectId":9112798,"letterContent":"Thanks to your generous support, my 6th grade bilingual students now have their very own individual whiteboards and a full set of colorful markers. We use them every single day for math problem-solving, vocabulary practice, quick writes, and sentence building. One of our favorite moments so far was during a math lesson on dividing fractions—every student solved the problem on their board, held it up, and proudly checked their work with their classmates. When the materials arrived, my students were beyond excited. They kept saying, \"These are ours?\" and immediately wanted to start using them. Seeing their joy and motivation was incredibly meaningful.\r\n\r\nThese resources have already increased student participation, confidence, and engagement. Because every student now has their own whiteboard, no one is afraid to make mistakes—we erase and try again. This is especially powerful for my bilingual students as they gain confidence in both English and math. Our next steps include using the whiteboards for daily warm-ups, grammar practice, and collaborative problem-solving as we prepare for state testing. Your kindness has made learning more interactive, joyful, and accessible for every child in my classroom. Thank you for believing in my students and investing in their future.","fullyFundedDate":1739902209619,"projectUrl":"project/white-boards-and-markers-for-learning/9112798/","projectTitle":"White boards and Markers for learning!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Miriam","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-6_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9923191"},{"teacherId":9923191,"projectId":9766484,"letterContent":"Thanks to your generous donation, my 6th grade bilingual students now have brand new basketballs, footballs, soccer balls, and even an air pump to keep everything ready for play. These materials have completely transformed our recess and PE time. Students now take turns practicing teamwork through friendly soccer games, shooting hoops, and learning proper passing and sportsmanship with football. One of the most special moments was seeing students who usually sit on the sidelines confidently join a game for the first time. When the equipment arrived, the excitement was immediate—cheers filled the room, and students couldn't wait to organize teams and try everything out.\r\n\r\nThis project has done much more than provide sports equipment—it has built confidence, friendships, and a stronger classroom community. Physical activity has helped my students release stress, improve focus, and return to class ready to learn. Many of my bilingual students are now using more English naturally as they communicate during games, which has been an added bonus. Our next steps include structured recess challenges focused on teamwork, leadership, and goal-setting, as well as incorporating physical movement into classroom brain breaks. Your generosity has created a healthier, happier learning environment for my students, and we are so grateful for your support.","fullyFundedDate":1759697027460,"projectUrl":"project/teamwork-in-action-sports-games-for-e/9766484/","projectTitle":"Teamwork in Action: Sports & Games for Everyone","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Miriam","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-6_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9923191"},{"teacherId":9799925,"projectId":9761178,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for gifting our classroom an iPad! The iPad helps my 2nd graders practice reading, math, and writing in interactive ways that keep them engaged and excited to learn.\r\n\r\nThe students' favorite part is getting to use creative apps—recording themselves reading, drawing to show understanding, and playing learning games that adjust to their skill level. One student who often feels discouraged during regular lessons has really connected with the iPad. The seat sacks were a huge hit, and the plain white shirts got an instant burst of \"Can we paint them today?\" energy. It felt like the whole room lit up.\r\n\r\nWe started our T-shirt project by hand-painting a big circle on each shirt to represent the unity of our class. Students chose different colors to show how we all come from different cultural backgrounds but still fit together as one community. Watching them sign each other's shirts with little notes and doodles was such a sweet moment. They were proud of what they created and proud of each other.\r\n\r\nThe seat sacks have already made our days so much easier.
