The balance beams, large building blocks, parachute, and toss-and-catch games have quickly become favorites during recess and PE. One of our most memorable moments so far was watching a group of students work together to build a \"TK obstacle course\" using the balance blocks and beams. They took turns cheering each other on, helping friends who felt unsure, and celebrating every small success. It was teamwork, confidence-building, and pure joy all in one moment—something we couldn't have created without your support.\r\n\r\nWhen the materials first arrived, our students' excitement filled the yard. Several gasped, others jumped up and down, and many immediately started imagining how they could use the new items. The parachute especially created a magical moment—students ran under it, held the edges with wide eyes, and worked together to make it billow high above their heads. Seeing their faces light up reminded us just how impactful these resources truly are for our kids.\r\n\r\nNow that the materials are part of our daily outdoor learning, the next steps involve using them for structured gross motor lessons and team-building activities across all four TK classes. We are beginning a series of \"movement challenges\" where students practice coordination, balance, cooperation, and communication. These resources open up meaningful opportunities for guided play, problem-solving, and building confidence. Because of you, our students are not only enjoying safer and more engaging playtime—they're growing stronger, more connected, and more capable every single day.","fullyFundedDate":1760664739185,"projectUrl":"project/building-strong-bodies-and-teamwork-in-t/9811869/","projectTitle":"Building Strong Bodies and Teamwork in TK!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Watts","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp5449562_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1757140303026","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/wattswonderfullearners"},{"teacherId":5449562,"projectId":9690923,"letterContent":"Thanks to your generosity, our classroom has been transformed in the most joyful and meaningful way. The moment our flexible seating arrived, my TK students' faces lit up with pure excitement. They explored each option—wobble stools, floor cushions, and scoop rockers—as if they had just stepped into the coolest learning space ever. One of my students sat in a wobble stool and whispered, \"I can think better in this one!\" Another grabbed a floor cushion, hugged it, and said, \"This is my reading spot now!\" Their reactions have been priceless.\r\n\r\nWe are already using the new seating every single day. During morning literacy centers, students now choose where they learn best. Some wiggle while practicing letter sounds, others curl up on a cushion while writing their names, and a few prefer rocking gently while they build with math manipulatives. I've noticed longer stretches of focus, calmer transitions, and more independence as they choose the seat that matches their needs.\r\n\r\nOne of my favorite moments was watching a student who normally struggles to sit still glide back and forth in a rocker while completing an entire handwriting page—something that used to be overwhelming for him. These seating options have given my students freedom, comfort, and confidence. They're learning in ways that fit them, and it's making a world of difference.\r\n\r\nAs for what's next, we're diving into a new set of hands-on literacy and math centers where your donated seating will continue to support their success. Students will use their new seats to explore letter sorting, beginning sounds, counting games, and story-building activities—all while finding the perfect spot that helps their little minds focus and flourish.\r\n\r\nThank you again for bringing this dream to life. Your generosity didn't just fund materials—it changed the way my students learn, feel, and grow in our classroom every single day.","fullyFundedDate":1757357223290,"projectUrl":"project/wiggly-seats-for-wiggly-learners/9690923/","projectTitle":"Wiggly Seats for Wiggly Learners","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Watts","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp5449562_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1757140303026","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/wattswonderfullearners"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_40268","usesÐǿմ«Ã½":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":573,"numTeachers":24,"percentFrplEligible":58,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":39,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":58,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 4","studentTeacherRatio":"23.9:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":86.5,"schoolId":40268,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Hughson Elementary School on @Ðǿմ«Ã½:","schoolName":"Hughson Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/hughson-unified-school-district/hughson-elementary-school/40268"}
