The beads, Play-Doh, coloring supplies, stones, and paint markers have all been put to great use over the last few months. Your support has made a meaningful difference in our efforts to promote student wellness at Marina High School, especially as we launched our new WellSpace on campus. \r\n\r\nThanks to your contribution, I was able to engage high school students in hands-on, creative activities designed to teach vital coping skills. These materials gave students an outlet to manage stress, express themselves, and develop healthy strategies for emotional regulation. Whether molding Play-Doh during mindfulness exercises or making bracelets and learning about healthy relationships, or using paint markers to create affirmation stones, each activity helped students slow down, reflect, and connect.\r\n\r\nEven more importantly, your donation helped draw attention to our new WellSpace—a safe, welcoming place on campus dedicated to mental health and well-being. As students participated in these creative sessions, many learned about the resources available to them for the first time. We've already seen an increase in visits and interest, and we hope that students are beginning to understand that it's okay to ask for help and take care of their mental health.\r\n\r\nYour kindness and support are appreciated!","fullyFundedDate":1742932592994,"projectUrl":"project/help-high-schoolers-develop-coping-skill/9069493/","projectTitle":"Help High Schoolers Develop Coping Skills!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Bernstein","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-5_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9690689"},{"teacherId":9690689,"projectId":9162558,"letterContent":"I am writing to express my sincere gratitude for your generous donation that provided clay, stones, paint pens, and Wellspace supplies for our recent support groups at Marina High School.\r\n\r\nThanks to your contribution, I was able to work with several groups of at-risk 9th grade students, offering them a safe and supportive space to express themselves creatively. Through hands-on projects like making affirmation stones and creating symbolic artwork, these students excitedly explored their feelings, developed healthier coping skills, and began to build stronger connections to our recently opened Wellspace on campus. It helped to make learning fun. \r\n\r\nYour donation did more than just provide art supplies—it opened the door for meaningful conversations about stress, school, emotional health, and the many support resources available to them here at Marina High School. It is my hope that many of these students will use these skills throughout their time in high school and remember how to access support when they need it. \r\n\r\nThank you again for your generosity and for believing in the importance of creative expression and mental wellness.
