When I first introduced the science viewers, their eyes immediately lit up. I heard so many little voices saying, \"Wow\" and \"This is so cool.\" They were incredibly excited, but what truly stood out to me was how carefully they treated the materials. After I explained that these were donated by people who believed in their learning, they handled each viewer gently and responsibly. They passed them slowly, waited patiently, and truly stepped into their role as young scientists.\r\n\r\nAs they explored the different animals, our classroom filled with curiosity. Instead of simply naming what they saw, they began saying, \"I wonder where it could live.\" Some suggested the forest, others thought maybe the ocean, and a few even said the desert. We talked about what they noticed such as fur, feathers, fins, and claws, and how those features might give us clues about where an animal lives. This naturally led us into a deeper lesson about habitats and observation. Our next steps include helping students connect animal traits to specific environments and explain their thinking through small projects and writing. My second graders are not just learning about animals. They are wondering, observing, and building confidence as thoughtful young scientists. Thank you for making that possible.","fullyFundedDate":1762266280247,"projectUrl":"project/curious-minds-at-work/9812709/","projectTitle":"Curious Minds at Work!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Garcia","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10163733_orig.jpg?crop=3024,3024,x0,y181&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1756435351350","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10163733"},{"teacherId":9345716,"projectId":9698155,"letterContent":"Our students were very eager to use the light table. We have noticed that is has become a more popular area and they are able to communicate the use of the area to others.
