These materials have already made such a meaningful difference in our TK classroom.\r\n\r\nBefore receiving the drying rack and trays, managing art projects was always a bit of a juggling act. Now, students each have their own tray to create on, which helps define their workspace and encourages independence and responsibility. The drying rack has been a game changer! Instead of papers piling up or getting smudged, students carefully place their artwork on the rack all by themselves. It has become part of our routine, and they take so much pride in doing it independently.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the drying rack set up in our classroom, they were so excited! Several of them said it made our room look like a \"real art studio.\" During our recent unit on author study, students created characters from the stories we read, such as a Very Hungry Caterpillar, a watercolor chameleon from Leo Lionni, and Piggie from Elephant & Piggie. Having the trays and drying rack allowed us to manage all of these projects, keep their artwork safe, and focus on creativity and fine motor skills.\r\n\r\nNext, we will use the drying rack and trays in our transportation unit to create various land, air, and sea vehicles. These materials will help students explore design, colors, and creativity while keeping their projects organized and ready to display.\r\n\r\nYour generosity has helped create a more organized, independent, and joyful creative environment for our youngest learners. In our TK classroom, play is the foundation of learning, and your generosity has given my students such a meaningful, hands-on way to explore new concepts.\r\n\r\nWe use the light tables during play-based center time, where students learn through exploration and discovery. They build letters with translucent pieces, create patterns with colorful shapes, sort and count manipulatives, and design pictures while strengthening their fine motor skills. The soft glow of the light table naturally draws them in and encourages focus, cooperation, and conversation. Through play, they are developing early math, literacy, and problem-solving skills without even realizing they are \"doing school.\"\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the light tables, their faces lit up with excitement! There were so many \"Wow!\" and \"Can I try?!\" moments. Even students who are sometimes hesitant to join an activity were eager to explore. The light table quickly became a favorite space in our classroom and has helped build confidence and independence as students make choices and create their own learning experiences.\r\n\r\nNext, we will be using the light tables to support our 3D shapes unit. Students will explore solid shapes such as cubes, spheres, cylinders, and cones by building, stacking, and comparing them on the illuminated surface. They will investigate which shapes roll, slide, or stack and discuss their attributes like flat faces, curved surfaces, and corners. Through hands-on play, they will deepen their understanding of how 3D shapes are part of the world around them.\r\n\r\nBecause of you, our classroom is filled with joyful learning. Thank you for investing in our youngest learners and helping us create a space where play truly becomes powerful learning.","fullyFundedDate":1764729625025,"projectUrl":"project/lighting-up-learning-light-table-for-ex/9933457/","projectTitle":"Lighting Up Learning: Light Table for Exploration, Creativity, and Discovery","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Shellhammer","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-2_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/6258963"},{"teacherId":5655528,"projectId":9821374,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for supporting our Social-Emotional Learning project!
