Having their own printed copies allows them to annotate, highlight key vocabulary, show their thinking, and refer back to examples when working independently. It has strengthened both their confidence and their accountability.\r\n\r\nWhat has been most exciting is how much more interactive our lessons have become. Students love being able to physically work through problems, cut and sort examples, and keep structured notes they can study from later. For many of them, especially my English Learners, having visuals and written scaffolds in front of them makes abstract math concepts more accessible. The printed supports reduce cognitive overload and help them focus on understanding the math instead of worrying about copying everything down correctly.\r\n\r\nI have especially noticed growth in students who previously hesitated to participate. A few of my quieter learners now volunteer to explain their thinking because they have organized notes to guide them. Students who struggle with organization feel more prepared and less anxious during class and assessments. It really helped a lot. The blocks we used it when we were describing equality to kids and moving blocks from one side of the equal sign to the other. We also used the geoboards during graphing linear equations. It really helped make our abstract concepts become concrete and tangible. The calculators were a big hit when it comes to solving.
