Having access to durable paper, markers, adhesives, and specialty tools allowed students to plan, design, and execute large-scale decorations that truly transformed our campus. These resources gave students the ability to bring their ideas to life in ways that were visually impactful and aligned with the themes they selected.\r\nDeck the Halls is a major group project that requires teamwork, planning, and creativity. The materials provided allowed students to experiment, revise, and produce polished work that elevated their final displays. This challenge not only boosted school spirit but also helped students practice collaboration and leadership skills as they worked together toward a shared goal.\r\nAs we head into upcoming spirit weeks and end-of-semester activities, these supplies will continue to support student-led projects and help them create meaningful, memorable displays for our school community. This year, we used the supplies to create a wide range of crafts that helped us celebrate the Class of 2025 in special and memorable ways. Students designed beautiful locker decorations, vibrant bulletin boards, and detailed posters that highlighted senior milestones. These projects brought joy not only to the seniors who were honored, but also to the students who created the décor—giving them a sense of pride, ownership, and connection to our school traditions. The crafting tools also allowed us to support Senior Sunset by creating props and picture-moment displays that made the event even more memorable.\r\nBeyond our senior celebrations, the materials added variety and creativity to our fall homecoming float preparation. Students had access to tools and resources that allowed them to experiment with new techniques, build more intricate float elements, and collaborate in ways that enriched their leadership and teamwork skills. Having high-quality materials meant they could focus on creativity and problem-solving rather than improvising with limited supplies.\r\nAs we move into the rest of the year, these materials will continue to support upcoming spirit weeks, rallies, and classroom projects. Recently one of my AP Studio Art students got a big boost when we realized she could print her sketches, transfer them to watercolor paper, and move forward with painting from there. She had been struggling with her next steps and now she has a reliable methodology and is making great progress.\r\n\r\nOur school is a hub for all kinds of things for our rural population - school is where students can interface with the college and career world, get regular meals, athletic opportunities, and of course learn all kinds of academic content. My classroom has truly been transformed by the addition of the colorful text, Macbeth: The Graphic Novel. This year, I have observed more participation and engagement with Shakespeare than ever before. Students who would have immediately shied away from the more archaic language found themselves intrigued by the visuals of the witches, the sword fights, and the burgeoning madness in the characters of Macbeth and Lady Macbeth. \r\n\r\nIn particular, my English learners (multilingual learners) were able to grasp the challenging text as well as my native speakers, producing writing that showed comprehension, critical thinking, and thoughtful analysis. Also, by including the original text, along with the creative visuals, they did not feel as though the text were being simplified for them to understand, which can often happen in classrooms working to expose all levels and languages to a harder novel or play. Students walked away from the text knowing that they were receiving the same language as anyone at any school, except far cooler and more artistically produced.\r\n\r\nFinally, the extra props I was able to purchase made the scenes come alive when we acted them out. Even older students love to dress up with wigs, costumes, and props, especially swords, to reinvent a Shakespearean scene. There were several days when the students were disappointed we weren't acting out a moment from the play. \r\n\r\nIt was a joy to witness their joy while reading Macbeth.","fullyFundedDate":1736979341676,"projectUrl":"project/macbeth-the-graphic-novel-original-tex/9047732/","projectTitle":"Macbeth: The Graphic Novel (Original Text)","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Bishop","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-9_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9891516"},{"teacherId":4012911,"projectId":8959659,"letterContent":"I can't thank you enough for helping bring our classroom hygiene station to life. It's been heartwarming to see how much care and dignity a small station can bring to a school day.\r\n\r\nWhat has surprised me most is how this resource has reached beyond just my own students. Word has spread around campus, and now students I've never had in class come by to take what they need.
