The students are really excited to have a physical copy of the novel. In the past, we have had to use pdf copies and the pages would not match. Having the physical copy of the novel has helped me to have a smoother novel study lesson. \r\n\r\nWe have started to read the Wonder novel, and so far the students are loving it. The students are really excited to continue reading it and dig deeper into the meaning of empathy and kindness. Students explored the book and are excited to read a book at the 5th grade level. They used it right away during our reading station. Since there are a variety of reading levels on the series, students were also eager to read a take a quiz on the books. Students at different levels of reading so they were excited to that they can access the books. \r\n\r\nStudents will continue to use the flexible seating throughout the school year. One way we use the chair as a calming corner space. Whenever a student needs a break, they can use the chair and move to where they are comfortable to calm down. Students also use the chair for independent work, in order for students to stay on task sometimes they need flexible seating.
