This is my first year at South Elementary, and the current economic landscape has affected these families very much. Your gift allowed families to focus their finances elsewhere. \r\n\r\nThe headphones were an awesome donation! Because of these, my students are able to listen to their programs for intervention consistently and with high quality sound. Even though these headphones have seen heavy use since August, the cords and ear pads are still intact and brand new looking. Also, there is no sound carryover while students are playing. Each student can hear only their computer without hearing bits and pieces from someone else's. Students have loved using them, and some of them even use them when they are not plugged in to computers to help block out some sounds during testing. \r\n\r\nMy whiteboards have been a blessing. It is nice that they are portable so students can pick them up and carry them to meet with other groups. This has allowed students to have academic conversations with each other while being able to take their notes with them. And they love that they are portable \"whiteboard suitcases\" as they call them! They pack up their thinking and carry it around the room. They have made a big impact already this year. \r\n\r\nAgain, thank you so much! I would not have been able to do this without your generosity.","fullyFundedDate":1754851613692,"projectUrl":"project/listening-writing-learning/9526440/","projectTitle":"Listening, Writing, Learning","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Manes","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-9_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8268656"},{"teacherId":9220795,"projectId":9525988,"letterContent":"Thank you for supporting our classroom! When they are able to do so during my sessions, they are more likely to advocate for those needs within the classroom setting, which is one of school-based occupational therapy's ultimate goal. Some start their mornings curled up on a floor cushion with a book, others rock gently in a scoop rocker while writing, and a few love using the wobble stools when we're working in small groups. It's so fun to see them discovering what helps them focus and feel comfortable.\r\n\r\nBefore, our hard chairs and fixed desks made it tough for many students to stay engaged. Now, the room feels alive — full of movement, laughter, and collaboration. I've noticed that students who used to struggle with focus are more settled, and even my quietest learners are opening up and participating more.\r\n\r\nYou didn't just fund furniture — you helped create a learning space that truly meets kids where they are. Many other teachers have also asked where I got them and if they could know the brand so they could add them to their list for their classes. \r\n\r\nWe've been using the whiteboards in so many creative and meaningful ways. In our Writing, students have been using them to develop ideas or character design. During math lessons, students solve problems on the board. We then have a gallery walk to show off our thinking.
