They met weekly to discuss emerging themes, character development, and big ideas, and the level of engagement was unlike anything we've seen before. Many students who typically struggle to stay focused and finish entire books were suddenly deeply absorbed in their stories.\r\n\r\nThe impact stretched far beyond the classroom walls. Several parents reached out to tell me their child was \"devouring\" their book at home...one even said they'd never seen their child so eager to read, especially such rich and meaningful literature. Every student finished their book club novel, and now they're creating thoughtful, creative projects to share their understanding and interpret the themes they discovered.\r\n\r\nYour donation didn't just provide books, it created authentic literary communities, sparked new enthusiasm for reading, and helped students see themselves as real readers and thinkers. The new desks, chairs, and stools have been life changing in our classroom. \r\n\r\nEvery day I get to meet with small groups of students during literacy lab time. They enjoy sitting on the new stools at our small group table. My old seating stools were much bigger and heavy so it was challenging to be able to work with larger numbers of students. The bright colors are inviting too.\r\n\r\nThe new chairs and desks replaced older furniture that was falling apart. Now the students get to sit at safe and comfortable space throughout their day. Our farms unit taught students about crops and products that come from animals. For months now we have been dealing with a box that is too heavy to move around and too deep to get to some of the good blocks. \r\n\r\nNow we have an amazing system where the kids can roll the blocks in and out of storage when we need them. It makes clean up time way easy and play time more fun for them. Our class set of clip boards is our other big excitement item. Kids feel so grown up writing on paper with a clip board. It is also helpful for me so I can have students join me in a large group on the rug for writing practice. \r\n\r\nAll of the items are being used and are very appreciated!
