Students take turns misting the tank, checking the temperature, and recording observations in their \"Gecko Scientists\" journals. One of my favorite moments so far was when a student noticed the gecko shedding and whispered, \"We have to write this down!\"—turning an everyday routine into a real science investigation.\r\n\r\nWhen the tank and supplies arrived, my class literally gasped. Several students jumped up and down, and one said, \"This is the best day ever!\" They explored every piece—light, foliage, hiding spots—imagining what the gecko's new home would look like. Their sense of pride in helping create the habitat was incredible.\r\n\r\nNow that our gecko is settled, students will begin a short life-science unit where they observe its behavior and compare its needs to other animals we study. We'll also be using the gecko as a model for a writing project where students create informational \"All About My Class Pet\" books.","fullyFundedDate":1774050991831,"projectUrl":"project/class-pet-starter-pack/10117714/","projectTitle":"Class Pet Starter Pack","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Gober","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7239165_orig.jpg?crop=2400,2400,x0,y752&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1592407670551","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/gober"},{"teacherId":196839,"projectId":9976770,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for the support with our reading in class!
