This is allowing us to explore many of the required science topics of life cycle of plants and animals. As we dig and get in the dirt, we also make science connections to food webs and food chains. \r\n\r\nOther topics we are able to explore with the garden accessories you have provided are healthy eating and healthy bodies, the seasons and how they change, and we can explore Colorado history because people in our town were farmers in the late 1800's until very recently.\r\n\r\nWe respect that the first human caretakers of our land were native American tribes such as the Ute, Cheyenne and Arapahoe. The buffalo and many other creatures were numerous on our grasslands, now taken over by our city of Longmont.
