Since receiving this project, we have purchased our class pet who students love, and have successfully set up a calming corner for students to use when feeling escalated.\r\n\r\nStudents have been overjoyed to have a class hedgehog. Without all the supply donations, we wouldn't have been able to make this happen. We have a nice hedgie home equipped with all the standard needs, a playpen (see pictures) where students can view and play with our pet, and a carrying case so our hedgie can travel from weekend houses back to school. Our class decided to name her Nugget after the Denver Nuggets and we are all in love. Having a class pet gives students another avenue to show leadership, responsibility, and also gives another sense of calm to the classroom. When students feel emotional or sad, they can have some hedgie time. Thank you for making this happen. \r\n\r\nOur calming corner has been another wonderful addition to our classroom. Every single item donated has been highly used. The bubble lamp gives the corner an extra calming effect, the chair is cozy, and the weighted animals might now be the most used item in our classroom. Students love to sit there and fidget or put on the noise canceling headphones to just be alone for 5 minutes. According to our class, \"we have the coolest calming corner in the building\". Once again, thank you for making this happen.
