I even had one student beg me every day to have the club meet more than once a week. He wanted to meet at lunch and grab his vise when he has another class. I had to say no unfortunately but I love the enthusiasm. The students loved seeing what was in the boxes and oohing and ahhing every time they unpacked one of the containers. It has been so fun to show them how to use the tools and supplies. \r\n\r\nJust recently, I had a couple 7th graders teaching a 6th grader who is new to the club. This peer mentoring is the ultimate goal and forming a community among the students has been so rewarding. The students are sooo excited to have the opportunity to learn how to tie flies. They have been showing up differently in class and consistently tell me how much they enjoy the fly tying club. I'm so glad I finally got this club up and running with the generosity of your donations in order to make it happen.
