This project has especially warmed my heart. We have had an influx of students from Latin America who are fluent speakers and readers of Spanish. When they find books in their native language, they are thrilled. I think being able to read in your native language is a gift that many of us take for granted. It is more than just keeping your language alive, it is keeping your cultural identity relevant and fresh. \r\nThese books - whether the students are reading something silly or something more serious - matter to them and make them feel special and seen. \r\nEspecially in this current climate, feeling like you belong and that you are welcome is needed and relished. The wobble chairs, floor cushions, and sensory tools have quickly become student favorites! Each morning, my fifth graders come in excited to choose their workspace for the day—some prefer a wobble chair to stay focused during math rotations, while others grab a cushion seat for independent reading or reflection. During our math problem-solving sessions, I've noticed a huge difference in focus and stamina. Students who once struggled to stay seated or on task are now fully engaged and proud of their work.\r\n\r\nThe day these items arrived, the room was filled with pure excitement. Students helped unpack the boxes, and their faces lit up as they explored the new tools. One student who often has difficulty sitting still proudly said, \"This chair makes sitting and learning math fun!\" Another shared that her fidget toy helps her calm down when she feels anxious before our multiplication and division practice tests. It's been incredible to see how small changes in our environment have made such a big impact on their confidence and emotional regulation.\r\n\r\nAs we continue through the year, our next goal is to connect these flexible seating tools to developing a growth mindset. Students will reflect on how their learning environment supports perseverance, focus, and trying new strategies when challenges arise. We'll discuss how making thoughtful choices—like choosing a calm space or using a fidget tool to reset—can help them stay resilient and believe in their ability to improve. Your donation has not only provided comfort and focus, but it's also helping shape students who approach learning with confidence, self-awareness, and a \"can-do\" attitude.
