These supplies have come in handy in both my 7th grade and 8th grade classes as we have been completing maps and creative projects. \r\n\r\nIn 7th grade, we use the colored pencils frequently to color and label maps of the various regions we study in class. This helps students understand where different landforms are to help them understand how geography and culture intersect. Last trimester, students also created their own murals and heroes and used the markers to illustrate their heroes on large sheets of paper.\r\n\r\nIn 8th grade, students know they can ask me for pencils to help them complete assignments. Recently, they are creating murals around remembering the Armenian genocide and have access to the supplies they need to accomplish this.\r\n\r\nWe appreciate your support in helping us bring this project to life to show off our creativity.","fullyFundedDate":1758822965147,"projectUrl":"project/art-supplies-for-global-perspectives/9676677/","projectTitle":"Art Supplies for Global Perspectives","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Loubier","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp4024883_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1565708616955","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/kloubier"},{"teacherId":3299777,"projectId":6084919,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generosity in supporting our Journalism class project. My eighth-grade students—high-achieving, hard-working learners in an Alliance District—truly benefited from the resources your donation made possible.\r\n\r\nWith the TeachersPayTeachers gift card, we were able to build an engaging and meaningful ethics unit from the ground up. Students analyzed real-world issues, including the Boston Marathon bombing and the use of security cameras, and explored how social media shaped the investigation. These topics sparked thoughtful conversations about privacy, security, and personal freedoms—questions that matter deeply to young people growing up in a digital world.\r\n\r\nYour support also allowed us to enrich our reading of Flowers for Algernon by Daniel Keyes. Students debated the ethical dilemmas in the novel and examined the risks and rewards of scientific advancement. They made powerful connections between literature, current events, and their own values.\r\n\r\nThank you for believing in my students and giving them access to rigorous, thought-provoking learning experiences.
