Your contribution has had a meaningful impact on our students by increasing their motivation to engage with texts, especially among reluctant readers. When students are excited about earning rewards tied to reading, they are more willing to practice consistently, explore new genres, and develop positive reading habits that extend beyond the classroom.\r\n\r\nAs a result, we have seen noticeable growth in reading stamina, comprehension, and confidence. All of the supplies have been welcomed by my middle school students, and I am seeing gains not only in their literacy, but also in their collaboration and communication skills due to these donations to my classroom.\r\n\r\nThe dry-erase pockets and the large magnetic whiteboard surfaces have made the biggest impact in my Spanish classes and Intro to AVID class. The dry-erase pockets have been great for activities in which my students read details about characteristics and can see colorful images that support the text they read. This is so helpful when developing language skills to have a visual that matches what they read. With limits on color-copies I can make, the pockets allowed me to print a class set and allow students to mark the text with dry-erase markers. Additionally, students were able to practice their reading comprehension skills in a low-stress way by using these tools. The large dry-erase surfaces have been especially helpful in my Intro to AVID class as students used them to engage in Tutorials--a collaborative inquiry-based activity that help them solve problems related to college- and career-readiness.\r\n\r\nThe large post-it paper has been wonderful for my Spanish students to work collaboratively and develop their own writing skills as they use them regularly for group projects to record ideas and also write their own descriptions in Spanish. One particular project they were excited about what to create \"Adopt me\" ads for pets that they described in Spanish. Students also really appreciate the ¿Qué tal? magazine subscription as it brings real-life authentic texts right to the classroom.\r\n\r\nThe impact of these materials has been profound in building student confidence, allowing for seamless feedback, and visual tracking of their progress. You have given me the ability (somewhat selfishly) to control what certain calculators are designated for. Far too often, I am forced to have students share calculators or hopefully bring their own. Then, I am forced to try to figure out and teach students how to manipulate their individual calculators. Everybody being on the same page has made everybody's lives easier.\r\n\r\nThe whiteboards are a great addition, too. Allowing students an easy way to collaborate and share responses and thought processes easily, rather than trying to project student work or transferring it manually. My students were quick to point out how much more environmentally responsible using white boards is, something I really hadn't given much thought.\r\n\r\nFinally, the small bags of treats are great reinforcers for kids. Your support made it possible for us to purchase iPads and provide snacks for students—resources that are already strengthening literacy and engagement in our science classrooms.\r\n\r\nThe iPads have become powerful tools for building scientific literacy. Students use them to read informational texts, analyze data, conduct research, and write explanations using academic and science-specific vocabulary. Interactive simulations, digital lab reports, and multimedia resources allow students to better comprehend complex scientific concepts while improving their reading, writing, and communication skills.\r\n\r\nIn addition, providing snacks has played an important role in supporting learning. When students' basic needs are met, they are better able to focus, participate in discussions, and engage in reading and writing tasks essential to science learning. The snacks help create an environment where students are alert, motivated, and ready to fully engage with scientific texts and activities.\r\n\r\nYour generosity directly supports students' ability to think critically, communicate scientifically, and develop the literacy skills necessary for success in science and beyond. Your contributions have allowed for the purchase of an iPad, magnetic graphs, and whiteboards have played an important role in strengthening students' literacy skills while deepening their understanding of mathematical concepts.\r\n\r\nThe iPad has allowed students to engage with math content in interactive and accessible ways. Through digital tools, students can read word problems more closely, annotate text, listen to directions read aloud, and explain their thinking using written or recorded responses. These features support comprehension, academic vocabulary development, and clear communication skills that are essential for literacy across all subject areas.\r\n\r\nMagnetic graphs have helped transform abstract data into something students can physically manipulate and discuss. As students place and adjust pieces on the graphs, they are required to read labels, interpret information, and use precise mathematical language to explain patterns and trends. This hands-on approach encourages students to speak, read, and write about math with greater confidence and clarity.\r\n\r\nWhiteboards have been especially valuable for promoting active participation and immediate feedback. Students regularly use them to write equations, label diagrams, and explain their reasoning in complete sentences. This practice reinforces writing skills, supports organization of thoughts, and allows students to revise their work in real time based on discussion and feedback.\r\n\r\nTogether, these tools have helped create a classroom environment where literacy and math work hand in hand. Students are more engaged, more confident in expressing their ideas, and better equipped to understand and communicate complex concepts.\r\n\r\nThank you again for your generosity and for investing in resources that support student growth and success.
