It has created a warm, welcoming environment where they feel safe to take the risks required when speaking a new language.\r\nWe use these resources as \"Brain Fuel\" during our most challenging immersion activities. For example, during a recent project where students had to practice conversational Spanish in small groups, I noticed that energy levels were dipping as they struggled with new vocabulary. I began distributing the snacks, and the atmosphere changed instantly. Instead of feeling frustrated by the language barrier, the students felt refreshed and supported. Having that \"dose of delicious\" gave them the stamina to push through the lesson, and I saw a direct increase in their willingness to participate and speak aloud in Spanish.\r\nMoving forward, we are turning these snacks into a cultural learning opportunity. Our next step is a lesson where students learn to identify different foods and flavors in Spanish, practicing phrases like \"Tengo hambre\" (I am hungry) and \"Me gusta...\" (I like...). One of their favorite items are the alphabet cars. They love laying the \"roads\" down and matching the cars to the letter on the road. They think they're playing when they're actually learning!\r\n\r\nTheir next favorite is the alphabet robots. They are robots that transform into letters. \r\n\r\nThey love the alphabet unicorns also and love matching the unicorns with the matching letter to the path. \r\n\r\nAnother item they love is the alphabet eggs. Each egg has a letter that matches with the same letter on the other half of the egg.\r\n\r\nThese wonderful items have allowed my students to have so much fun while learning.
