Your incredible generosity brought the magic right into our classroom! The moment the box arrived—packed with snacks, pencils, Harry Potter themed treasures, and all those miscellaneous essentials—it kicked off a wave of pure excitement and a noticeable lift in our learning environment.\r\nThe New Resources in Action\r\nThe impact of your donations is already a daily game-changer for my students:\r\nPencils and Power-Up Snacks: These might seem like small things, but they are absolutely huge. Snacks on hand mean we have fewer afternoon meltdowns from students who are struggling to focus because they're hungry. And with a fresh stock of pencils, no one has to worry about stopping a brilliant thought just because their lead broke. We're ready to learn the second the bell rings!\r\nA Touch of Hogwarts: We immediately put the Harry Potter items to work by creating a magical creative writing unit. We transformed a corner of the room with the themed posters and decorations into our very own \"Hogwarts Common Room\" reading nook. Our main project now is for students to write and illustrate their own magical creature journals. The materials you sent gave them instant inspiration, turning a basic assignment into a truly imaginative, immersive adventure!\r\nThe Moment the Magic Arrived\r\nWatching the students see the materials for the first time was the best part—it truly felt like Christmas morning!\r\nWhen they spotted the Harry Potter gear, there were shrieks and gasps! One huge fan immediately pointed to a poster and yelled, \"Look, it's the Golden Snitch! We can use this to inspire our stories!\" Their energy was infectious.\r\nThe reaction to the snack stash was quieter but just as profound. For the few students who often come to school hungry, knowing we have that supply created a beautiful sense of security and care. Your donation didn't just fill a box; it filled a fundamental need for comfort and focus, letting every child concentrate on what matters most: learning.","fullyFundedDate":1757693665786,"projectUrl":"project/supplies-for-success/9699016/","projectTitle":"Supplies for Success","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Entrekin","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-8_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10248915"},{"teacherId":10179409,"projectId":9600397,"letterContent":"Thanks to your generosity, our classroom has been transformed by the addition of a color printer and digital camera. These tools have already made a tremendous impact on the way my students learn, create, and share their work.\r\n\r\nThe color printer has allowed students to bring their projects to life in ways that were never possible before. They are now able to print high-quality images, visual aids, graphic organizers, and final drafts that they can proudly display. Many students who struggle with confidence have been beaming when they see their work printed professionally in vibrant color—something that truly motivates them to keep striving.\r\n\r\nThe digital camera has opened the door to hands-on learning and documentation. Students have been capturing experiments, group activities, field observations, and moments of teamwork. We're also using it to create student-led photo journals and visual presentations. Having access to this technology gives students the opportunity to develop digital literacy skills that are essential in today's world.\r\n\r\nYour support has done more than provide equipment—you've given my students tools that inspire creativity, strengthen communication, and build pride in their accomplishments. We are deeply grateful for your kindness and belief in our classroom.\r\n\r\nThank you for investing in our students' potential. As an inclusion teacher in high school science, I work with students who face a wide range of learning challenges. Many of them struggle with reading, math, and staying motivated in a subject that already feels overwhelming. Because of your generosity, I am now able to offer simple but meaningful rewards—Jolly Ranchers, Wyler drink mixes, Bazooka gum, Starbursts, and Ticonderoga pencils—that help keep my students engaged and willing to push through tough lessons.\r\n\r\nThe moment the students saw the new incentives, they lit up. Several immediately asked how they could earn them, and others were excited just knowing that their effort would be recognized in a fun and positive way. These incentives have already helped me encourage participation during labs, reinforce good habits during independent work, and celebrate small wins for students who often need that extra boost to keep going. For some students, something as small as a favorite candy or a fresh pencil makes a big difference in their confidence and mindset.\r\n\r\nYour support has truly strengthened the positive culture in my classroom. With these incentives in hand, my students are more motivated, more persistent, and more willing to take risks in their learning. With my biology students, we explored the properties of water while preparing pasta and limeade using the induction burners. Students experienced the many essential properties of water. I was amazed at how many properties are evident when making something as simple as pasta and limeade. This is just one example of student learning. \r\n\r\n\"solubility: the sugar dissolving in the water\r\nsurface tension: lime zest is floating\r\nadhesion: water condensed on the edge of the bottle\r\ncohesion: the water molecules bonding together\r\nhydrophobic: the oil does not mix with the water\r\nhigh heat capacity: the water takes a while to heat up because its hydrogen bonds are really strong, so the water doesn't start to boil until those bonds are broken\r\ndensity: the ice is less dense because when water freezes, its bonds become more rigid and farther apart, making it less dense.\" \r\n\r\nStudents enthusiastically participated, and they enjoyed applying critical thinking while cooking. Many students expressed that they learn better with hands-on activities and that cooking is fun. They asked to do more cooking. One student asked if we could cook together once a week. \r\n\r\nI enjoyed the opportunity this project provided for me to bond with my students. Many quiet students who are normally reluctant to volunteer were very active during the activity. I love the opportunity to connect with these students. I find that my students are more motivated learners when we have a strong bond. \r\n\r\nThank you for the opportunity to have fun while learning. Your contribution has truly made a significant, immediate difference in our learning environment, and I'm excited to share how your generosity is already impacting my students.\r\n\r\nThe Impact of Your Resources:\r\nThe items you helped us purchase—especially the Flagship Carpets Area Rug and the new supplies—have fundamentally changed how we use our classroom space.\r\n\r\nWe are now using the beautiful new area rug as a designated, comfortable \"Learning Lounge\" for group work, read-alouds, and focused small-group instruction. We previously had worn-out tile, which made floor seating uncomfortable and distracting. Now, the rug provides a soft, warm spot that naturally draws the students in.\r\n\r\nStudent Reactions and New Tools:\r\nThe students' reaction when they first saw the large, colorful rug rolled out was priceless—they gasped! They immediately took off their shoes and started exploring the space. They were equally thrilled with the abundance of new supplies. The Crayola Take Note Dry Erase Markers have been a game-changer for collaboration on our small whiteboards; they're vibrant and low-odor, making brainstorming sessions much more enjoyable. The Enday #2 Pencils and Paper Mate Flair Felt Pens mean we have fewer distractions and more focused writing time since no one is constantly asking to borrow a pencil or struggling with a dried-out marker. \r\n\r\nWhat's Next for Our Project:\r\n\r\nStudents will be using the new Sharpie Chisel Tip Markers to create large, colorful draft posters and concept maps for their stories.\r\n\r\nThe Learning Lounge (the rug) will be used for students to practice reading their stories aloud and giving peer feedback in a supportive, relaxed environment.\r\n\r\nYour support didn't just provide materials; it provided comfort, organization, and inspiration that will allow my students to reach new creative heights.
