We began with making our school video (the photo can be seen on the two coat of arms). \r\n\r\nSince the colors did not match perfectly we made two coat of arms using materials we received. Only the color background is different. The beliefs and basic format are the same. It was rewarding watching them come to agreement on what would represent them and how to arrange them on the coat of arms. Resilient, Respectful and Responsible were their three traits along with their motto \"Lighting the path to success\". \r\nSome students showed their strength in ideas whereas others demonstrated their artistic talents. \r\n\r\nThis group is composed of members chosen randomly from grades 6-8. Keep in mind that so far we have only had 3-4 meetings of the group of only 27 minutes. We also had to decorate our doors for a combination of a Halloween theme incorporating \"a no to drugs\" theme. You can see the two doors. The group energy for that one built from our previous \"coat of arms' project. Seeing them take pride in their contribution was inspiring. \r\n\r\n Note that our present project is toys for children for Christmas where students colored Christmas pictures to promote the drive and decorated two boxes in which to collect the wrapped toys. The focus of this endeavor is to extend to donate personally a small gift to help children less fortunate than them to celebrate the holidays.\r\n\r\nWithout these supplies donated out of generosity we would not have been able to complete these projects, for many of our students come from limited income families. Your donation allows them to positively contribute by working with others and giving of their time and creativity to the community spirit of our middle school as well as to our general community. The concept of cultivating and showcasing our community with an artistic focus will continue through the remainder of \r\nthe year thanks to your generosity.","fullyFundedDate":1755459412559,"projectUrl":"project/cultivating-capturing-and-showcasing-ou/9614750/","projectTitle":"Cultivating, Capturing and Showcasing Our Community Artistically","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Stefanides","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-9_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10163057"},{"teacherId":10163045,"projectId":9559921,"letterContent":"What a breath of fresh air your donations brought to my precious students! They must research, discuss, and ultimately commit to the value they believe is most essential, helping them articulate their own nascent leadership philosophy.\r\n\r\nDeveloping Communication Skills (Symbolic & Written): Students practice the critical skill of communicating a complex idea simply and clearly. They must translate an abstract concept (like \"resilience\") into a tangible, memorable design that instantly resonates with the viewer, honing both their visual literacy and their ability to convey a powerful message.\r\n\r\nFostering Community Ownership & Purpose: By creating something that will be shared publicly, students gain a powerful sense of pride and responsibility. They realize that their work is not just an assignment but a tool for positive influence. This instills the understanding that true leadership is about serving and inspiring others beyond their immediate social circle.\r\n\r\nEncouraging Reflective Practice: Students will continue to reflect on a leadership skills and practices with attributes they themselves poses. \r\n\r\nThank you again for your generous donations!","fullyFundedDate":1752837709066,"projectUrl":"project/leadership-development/9224165/","projectTitle":"Leadership Development","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Bush","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-8_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9990115"},{"teacherId":10163145,"projectId":9565069,"letterContent":"Total engagement!
