We eat breakfast around 8:00am and lunch at 12:20pm. That is a long stretch of time without something in their stomachs. Students are better able to learn on a full stomach. I have used white boards in the past and I always had to worry about students drawing on the tables or carpet. The perfect solution is the LED boards. They are not messy at all to use! Students can only write on the boards with the pens that come with, not on anything else. \r\nThe students use the boards in the mornings while waiting for the bell to ring. They are practicing writing letters, numbers, shapes, and drawing pictures. We also use them during small and whole group lessons. \r\nThe dinosaur ones are only used at rest time to make them special. I also put labels on them to identify what is inside. Living in Florida, we have all sorts of critters who like to get into things. The plastic containers make it nearly impossible for the critters to get into them. \r\nI also have some of the same container storing all the materials already. By getting the same kinds of containers, it makes it easier to stack. I also use them for students names for filing and putting their names on their paintings. \r\nI like to color code my centers to help with clean up. He gave me clues, but stumped me. He made an alpaca. The treasure boxes are neat because they have to match the letter on the box to the letter on the key. Inside each treasure box is an item that starts with that letter. The dinosaurs and popsicles are another fun way to practice their letter recognition. The cookie jar will count with them as they put each cookie in the jar. It will also ask them to locate a certain number cookie. The pattern block magnets are also a hit. They are making pictures out of the different shapes. They love the ice cream matching numbers with amounts on the ice dream bar. The locks are fun to practice colors and shapes.
