I am grateful to have received those needed supplies for my students that I requested as my first ever project through \"Donor Choice\". My students and I were thrilled the day the office manager informed me that I had packages in the front office. The next day I opened the packages. ... My students saw the colorful folders, colorful plastic clipboards, small pencil sharpeners, great board games, giant Uno cards, and best of all delicious treats as a reward incentive. \r\n\r\n The colorful clip boards are utilized by my students while they work in their cooperative groups around the room especially while interacting on the carpet. They provide steady support while students annotated the text on a daily basis. My students enjoy being able to choose from those translucent color clip boards before they disperse into their reading groups. Now, what they really appreciate the most is our class game boards they get to play together with friends which allow them just to relax and chill when they have earned free time on Thursdays or Fridays from the academic rigid of being third graders. Those giant Uno cards are a game changer for my boy students and girl students; I enjoy watching them as they fumble while trying to hold and manipulate those enormous cards but it's all for fun. My third graders are well behaved and hard working students, so the wonderful chocolate cookies, skittles, Oreo cookies are incentives that I give out as a tangible reward treat. But the candy ring pops are my favorite treats that I give out to my students for meeting their independent weekly reading goal of taking and passing four AR reading test. The students in our 5th grade classes enjoyed working in literature circles and creating projects. These projects showed how much hard work the students put forth as they dove deeply in highlighting the character(s) from these stories. What an entertaining way to demonstrate their knowledge of the 5th grade standards and benchmarks in 5th grade.\r\n\r\nThese gifts also showed how well these students did on their assessments at school and on the state reading test. Just as it is in the private business sector to keep customers coming back they must always strive to improve, engage, and develop a sense of loyalty and care. That is exactly what your generous gift allowed to have happen at Village Oaks Elementary School! Students did not want to leave and said that they looked forward to coming back!\r\n With reading & math testing approaching your generosity helped to dispel their nerves and enjoy gamification strategies to help students discover, understand, and apply their knowledge.\r\n The Speed Stack Timers specifically help all students learn how to read and verbalize numbers to state amounts of time, minutes, seconds, and use of decimals. Additionally, upper grade level students learn how to calculate mean median & mode data.\r\nIn the real world it is important to learn about mean, median, and mode to identify patterns or trends in a data set. Teaching kids about mean, median, and mode is important because it provides them with fundamental statistical tools to analyze and interpret data in their everyday lives, helping them understand patterns, make informed decisions, and develop critical thinking skills by learning how to find the \"typical\" value within a set of numbers, which is crucial for understanding information presented in various fields like science, social studies, and even personal finances.\r\n\r\n \r\nAgain, thanks to you the new Speed Stack Timers will also be used on schoolwide Literacy Nights and Academic Mathematical Carnival Days to share their knowledge with parents, and community members.
