While the school year was already in progress, these materials did not go to waste. We always have students coming and going, and I like to provide my students with fresh materials whenever needed. We have used so many markers, journals and folders it's truly wild and takes a village. Our folders are used for centers and daily morning work. Our notebooks have become math journals for our notes and are used everyday and checked by myself for accountability measures. A classroom can function on the basics, but these materials allow for us to go above and beyond. I promote a lot of responsibility in my classroom through jobs. It is my students responsibilities to clean the classroom daily because if they make the mess they clean it. We make sure to wipe the desks, tables and sink area every afternoon. This ensures a clean room, less germs and the next day is a fresh start. In addition, my students sweep, vacuum and take out the trash. Having so many students in and out daily requires cleanliness, so I make sure to spray at least 2x week. We will be doing a huge classroom clean before winter break, so our large tub of wipes will come in handy! We won with a land-slide and got to spend 35 extra minutes outside! The microwave has been a wonderful addition as we now make special snacks and rewards that bring smiles to every face in our 2nd-grade class. The cinnamon atomic balls have quickly become a favorite treat for students who work hard and show kindness. Your kindness has made our reward system something the children truly look forward to every day.\r\n\r\n The dry erase markers have also made a huge difference in our learning. During our UFLI phonics lessons, the students love coming up to the whiteboard to solve problems, sound out words, and show their understanding. We have even created colorful pictures that connect with our lessons, turning learning into a creative and hands-on experience. It is wonderful to see how engaged and confident the students have become.\r\n\r\n We are also incredibly grateful for the HP Think Tank color printer. It has opened up so many possibilities, from printing certificates of achievement to fun AI-designed stories and classroom rewards. Each year I pick an area of the school to beautify and bring back life to the school and environment. Last year was such a success and I have seen so many beautiful creatures, butterflies and even a hummingbird! The bright colors of the flower beds and garden decorations will bring so much joy to our campus and students. I always incorporate this event as part of a science unit for plants and animals. I usually combine this activity with releasing butterflies that we get as caterpillars and what them transform.
