Watching students test vibrations with tuning forks and manipulate lenses to observe how light bends sparked genuine curiosity and excitement. Many of my scholars were amazed to see abstract science concepts come to life right in front of them, and several immediately began asking deeper \"why\" and \"how\" questions exactly the kind of thinking we strive to build in science.\r\n\r\nWhen students first saw the new materials, their reactions were priceless. There was a lot of excitement, wide eyes, and comments like, \"We get to do what was seen in the video\" They were eager to touch, test, and explore, and it reinforced for them that their classroom is a place where authentic STEM learning happens.\r\n\r\nWhile we have only begun using a portion of the materials, the remaining resources will be fully integrated once we begin GMAS preparation on March 16th. At that point, students will engage in hands-on investigations and engineering challenges that reinforce key science standards. These Tiger Stripes are then used to \"shop\" at the PBIS Store, where students can select rewards they have worked hard to earn. One memorable moment occurred during our first store opening when students carefully counted their Tiger Stripes, discussed their choices with peers, and proudly selected items they had earned through consistent positive behavior. The experience reinforced that their efforts matter and that positive choices lead to meaningful recognition.\r\n\r\nWhen students first saw the materials in the PBIS Store, their excitement was immediate and genuine. Many students were amazed by the variety of items available and expressed pride in knowing the store was created specifically for them. Several students shared that earning rewards motivated them to stay focused in class, follow expectations, and encourage their peers to do the same. The store quickly became something students talked about positively, helping shift conversations from consequences to incentives and reinforcing a culture of accountability and encouragement throughout the school.\r\n\r\nMoving forward, these resources will continue to support our schoolwide PBIS framework by being intentionally tied to classroom expectations and behavior goals. Teachers will use the PBIS Store as part of ongoing lessons on goal setting, self-management, and personal responsibility, helping students track progress and reflect on their behavior.
