These interactive tools allowed my students to learn by doing, which increased their engagement, confidence, and excitement for science. Concepts that once felt confusing became approachable when students could touch, move, and experiment with the materials themselves.\r\n\r\nUsing the model of the sun and Earth, students were able to physically observe Earth's rotation around the sun, helping them clearly understand day, night, and seasons. The circuit model was just as impactful, giving students the chance to build and test circuits while learning how electricity flows. Watching my students light up—both literally and figuratively—while successfully completing a circuit was incredibly rewarding. These hands-on experiences helped my struggling learners feel successful and excited about STEM, and they made learning meaningful, memorable, and fun.","fullyFundedDate":1759241734208,"projectUrl":"project/stem-and-sensory-success-hands-on-learn/9772101/","projectTitle":"STEM and Sensory Success: Hands-On Learning for All","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Filer","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8820658_orig.png?crop=1030,1030,x0,y85&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1666994384920","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8820658"},{"teacherId":9913589,"projectId":9779715,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous support of our Ðǿմ«Ã½ project! I've seen students who were once hesitant become more confident as they use the manipulatives to problem-solve, collaborate with classmates, and explain their thinking.\r\nYour generosity has helped turn math into something my students look forward to, and it has made a lasting impact on their understanding and enthusiasm for learning. Because of you, my students now have access to resources that are already making a meaningful difference in their learning and excitement for school.\r\n\r\nWe have been using the new materials regularly, and they've helped bring learning to life in ways that weren't possible before. One especially meaningful experience was during our project-based learning (PBL) unit on plant life cycles. Using the materials you helped provide, students planted alfalfa seeds and observed the entire growth process firsthand. They recorded observations, asked thoughtful questions, and made real-world connections as they watched their plants grow. This hands-on project deepened their understanding far beyond what a textbook alone could offer.\r\n\r\nWhen the materials first arrived, my students were beyond excited. Their eyes lit up as they realized these resources were just for them. Several students immediately asked when we could start using them, and they took great pride in caring for their plants and tracking their progress. Knowing that people they've never met believed in them made the experience even more meaningful.\r\n\r\nYour generosity has also opened the door for what comes next. As we continue our lessons, students will build on this plant life cycle project by analyzing results, sharing reflections, and connecting what they learned to future science units. These resources will continue to support hands-on learning, collaboration, and curiosity throughout the year.\r\n\r\nThank you again for investing in my students and their education.
