At least every quarter students are able to spend their money at our store.\r\n\r\nAt our store we are able to offer a variety of items for students to purchase with their LewMack money. Celebrating accomplishments reinforces the idea that every student has something meaningful to contribute. Donations make it possible to provide equitable opportunities for recognition, ensuring all students can experience success. With the support of generous donors like you, my classroom becomes a place where encouragement is consistent, goals feel attainable, and students are inspired to keep striving for their best.\r\n\r\nMy 6th graders were beyond excited to shop in our \"comet coupon store\" and spend their hard-earned coupons on the items that were donated. They always go wild for snacks, candy, and drinks, but they were especially pumped about the new addition of the prize wheel. For 25 coupons, they got to spin the wheel and wherever it landed told them the prize they received. Of course, I also labeled one spot as a \"whomp whomp\" which only increased the fun! I never knew middle schoolers would be willing risk their coupons, but there were some kids who wanted to spend all they had on more chances to spin the wheel even knowing they might get nothing! The Cricut machine has allowed me to design and create custom games, manipulatives, and visual supports that match our current lessons. Students are using fraction models, integer games, number lines, and coordinate plane activities to deepen their understanding and make connections between concepts. These tools have helped move math from abstract and frustrating to concrete and accessible for many learners.\r\n\r\nWhen students first saw the new materials, they were excited and curious. They immediately wanted to try the games and work collaboratively with their classmates. Many students who typically feel discouraged in math became more willing to participate, ask questions, and persist through challenging problems. The hands-on approach has increased engagement, confidence, and positive attitudes toward learning. Students often say that math feels \"easier\" and \"more fun,\" which has created a more supportive and motivated classroom environment.\r\n\r\nMoving forward, we will continue to expand these interactive experiences by creating new games and differentiated activities that meet a wide range of learning needs. Students will apply their math skills through problem-solving, collaboration, and real-world connections. While many people use technology at home for entertainment or communication, in our classroom it serves as a powerful academic tool. The new technology allows students to practice math skills through interactive programs that provide immediate feedback, differentiate instruction, and adjust to each learner's level. Students are able to strengthen foundational skills, track their progress, and stay motivated through goal-setting features built into the platforms we use.\r\n\r\nWhat excites students most is the combination of organization and play. The structured systems help them independently access materials and transition smoothly between activities, while the technology adds an interactive, game-like element to learning. The sense of ownership they feel over their learning has been incredible to watch.\r\n\r\nSeveral students who typically struggle with focus or confidence have especially warmed up to the new technology. Instead of just solving problems from a textbook, students have been working in small groups using the materials to build ratio tables, create real-world comparison scenarios, and even design their own \"unit rate challenge\" problems for classmates to solve. One of my favorite moments was watching a group excitedly realize they could use unit rates to compare better buys when shopping—something they immediately connected to real life. Your support helped make those lightbulb moments possible.\r\n\r\nWhen the materials first arrived, my students were genuinely excited. They immediately started asking what we were going to do with them and were eager to dive in. Having engaging, high-quality resources made them feel like their learning is important and valued.
