It helped my scholars to analyze Lilly's behavior and recognize what she did wrong and what she needed to do to correct her actions. The students also had the opportunity to self-reflect and come up with a plan of action what they would do if they were to be in Lilly's situation. \r\nIn my classroom, reading looks like every student with an individual copy of the focal text. They are engaged in reading, annotating the text on post-it notes, engaging in collaborative conversations and asking and answering questions the text.\r\nBoys and girls alike enjoyed reading Lilly's Purple Plastic Purse. I greatly appreciate your donations. Technology comes with its advantages but it also has its fair share of disadvantages. Each student was assigned a Chromebook. Sometimes our Chromebooks have technology issues. When this happens students are at risk of missing out on their lessons. My team decided to collect the old iPads (our school system is phasing them out) and use for a backup so that students do not miss out on these lessons. The problem with these are that they were missing most of the chargers. My students are obsessed with Pete the Cat. I want to continue to foster their love of reading so I created this project in order to provide my students with a library that reflects their interests. These books will be added to our classroom library on their own display so that my students may have access to the books.\r\n\r\nMy students will also be able to practice retelling the story of Pete the Cat, I Love My White Shoes. Our old Pete the Cat, I Love My White Shoes was well loved so I requested a new copy of the book along with a felt retelling kit. My students will be able to read the book and then move the felt pieces of the story either during or after reading.\r\n\r\nThese books are really great read alouds and can include all students no matter their language proficiency levels.
