The items you helped fund have had a big impact on the library's daily operations as well as student engagement with reading. \r\n\r\nThe bags, with labels covered with tape, are being used by 141 students in grades Pre-K-1st grade. The bags offer protection for the materials during transit between home and school, shielding them from rain, snow, or accidental spills, ensuring the books return to the library in better condition. The bookmarks have served a practical purpose by preventing students from dog-earing pages, which damages books. Providing them as a free, readily available resource instills respect for library materials. The stickers are a low-cost, high-impact incentive used to reward good behavior, participation in reading challenges, or reaching literacy goals. They create a positive association with the library and reading. The markers enable the library to host hands-on activities, such as bookmark creation stations, coloring pages related to current themes, or collaborative poster projects. These are among the most teacher-friendly item we have on hand. The baskets have made a huge difference in our ability to organize and prepare materials to be ready for lessons in multiple classrooms across grades. In Kindergarten classrooms we have also found that not only are baskets a practical means of storing and organizing materials, but these baskets are also a fun addition to our play areas. Kindergarteners are currently studying woodland animals. These baskets are perfect for making pretend nests for the stuffed owls in our dramatic play areas. The project was funded very quickly, and we received the materials in time to put them into use in an impactful way. While I originally thought these books would be in rotation mostly with our youngest ( Grades kindergarten- Grade 1) students, it was surprising to see how useful they were for our older learners who have struggled the most with learning to read. The stories are not boring, they are not \" babyish\". This is a huge issue I have often encountered when trying to find books for my older students that balance their need for dignity alongside their need to practice reading skills that are grade levels far below their ages. We have found these books appropriate as a resource for special educators, English as a Second Language teachers- and my homeroom teacher colleagues have also requested that we get more of these books to support their regular classroom instruction as well. These are sturdy, well-made, high quality instructional materials that will be in use at my school for a long time. \r\nYour generosity has given my whole teaching team such as lift- we feel like our work is seen and valued.
