The books in the America's National Mystery bookseries, helps teach many of our ELA and Social Studies standards in a cross-curriculative way. They are fun for students to read and to hear read aloud! The students love to engage in solving the mysteries and to solve them before the characters. The books really help with developing close reading, close listening, comprehension, critical thinking and drawing conclusion skills.\r\n\r\nStudents also like to just read the books for fun! Finding engaging and teachable books for students to enjoy, while growing their reading skills is important to me as a teacher. The students have loved reading one of the mysteries and then presenting me with an oral synopsis of the book to teach me about what they have read. Students who have struggled to find the right book to read are loving these books!
