They were so excited to know that our generous donors cared enough about our cozy, little classroom to provide us with newer, nicer materials. \r\n\r\nA fan-favorite of the students were the scented stickers. A student who has struggled to read for a couple of years now was highly motivated to read entire pages of phonics passages to earn these stickers. On students' birthdays, in exchange for academic achievements, and to prepare for high-stakes testing, students received \"fancy\" pencils and erasers to remind them of how special they all are. Your generosity played a huge role in helping me do exactly that.\r\n\r\nWhen the new materials arrived, it truly felt like a turning point for our class. The students were immediately excited—there was a sense of curiosity and energy that hadn't been there before. Many of them gathered around, asking questions and eager to try everything out. For some students, it was the first time they felt like something in the classroom was \"just for them,\" and that moment mattered more than I can fully express.\r\n\r\nWe have been using these resources daily, and they've helped me establish stronger routines and more engaging lessons. There were lots of wide eyes, big smiles, and immediate excitement. Several students said things like, \"These are brand new?!\" and couldn't wait to start using them. It truly created a sense of pride and ownership in our classroom, and they have been taking great care of everything because they know how special it is.\r\n\r\nNext, we are continuing to build on our literacy and project-based learning.
