My students were so excited that we received so many new things for our classroom. We are using these resources during literacy stations. All the students are able to use them independently.\r\n The children are using the CVC letters and pictures to encode words and decode words. They are getting more confident in their reading abilities! The children are reading the Science Decodables. They are also writing about what they read in the books. They really enjoy reading about animals. They are developing their phonemic awareness by segmenting and blending sounds with the magnetic dry erase boards. I love how we are able to more reading and writing in science.\r\n The next steps are extending their reading with more sentences. I want to encourage them to write more sentences and add more details. We have been using the same color paints and play doh for a while, when my students saw the new colors they were so excited to be able to create new pictures with paint and design with the play doh. Our students really enjoy using glitter glue to add sparkle to the creations. The glitter will definitely come in handy when creating Valentines next month. \r\n\r\nWe added a little science into our fine motor skills. Using the new microscope will allow the students to look at a variety of different objects and not just slides. We will also be learning about the life cycle of a plant. When creating their turkeys they got to choose what eyeballs to use.
