The Magna-Tiles tiles, cars, racers, and balls encourage the students to create 3D structures and build racing courses. Before having access to these materials, some students experienced frustration when they were unable to make themselves understood. Now, with visual supports and communication boards readily available, they are able to point to pictures, make choices, and actively engage in conversations. \r\n\r\nThe visual schedules have also brought a sense of structure and predictability to our students' days. Knowing what to expect helps reduce anxiety and allows them to transition more smoothly between activities. We have even been able to extend these supports into the home environment, creating consistency between school and home routines. \r\n\r\nIn addition, these resources have fostered stronger connections between our students, their teachers, and their peers. Students now each have their own chair pocket to keep their books. They each have a bucket to contain their 95 Phonics chip kits, writing journals, headphones, and individual book bags. \r\n\r\nStudents have learned to grab their buckets when needed, keep them under their chair, and quickly be able to access their individual materials. They are so happy to have their own space to maintain their materials.
