My teacher was able to obtain sturdy headphones that we use almost on a daily basis. We have struggled with focus due to having to hear the output from the computers around us when we are trying to do independent work. Having our own personal set of sturdy headphones have alleviated this problem and increased our on-task time. We did not have a good variety of puzzles and I feel the students were getting bored, but they still would pull out the puzzles.\r\n When the students saw six new puzzles, twelve Etch A Sketches, and six Magnetic Drawing Boards (Large Doodle Boards), they went ballistic. They could not wait to get their hands on them. The special education teachers are extremely pleased with the new resources you provided. Because of you, my students have been given access to a powerful tool that has already begun transforming the way they learn, create, and think.\r\n\r\nMany of our donors are familiar with technology at home, but in our classroom, this 3D printer is doing something truly special, it is turning students from consumers of information into creators. Instead of simply completing worksheets or drawing their ideas on paper, students are now designing solutions, building models, and bringing their ideas to life in a tangible way. This hands-on experience strengthens their understanding of concepts in math, science, and engineering. They are learning to measure, problem-solve, and think critically as they design objects, test them, and revise when things don't go as planned. These real-world skills are helping them build confidence and resilience.\r\n\r\nThe most exciting part for my students has been watching their designs print in real time. There is a sense of wonder as they see each layer form and realize that something they imagined is becoming real right in front of them. The classroom energy during printing time is incredible, students are engaged, asking questions, and collaborating with one another in meaningful ways.\r\n\r\nI have also seen certain students truly shine with this new technology. Some students who typically struggle in traditional academic settings have become leaders during design time, helping their classmates troubleshoot and improve their projects. Others who are usually quiet have found their voice by sharing their creations and explaining their ideas. The 3D printer has provided a new way for students to express themselves and succeed.\r\n\r\nYour support has not only provided a piece of technology, it has opened doors for creativity, innovation, and deeper learning. Thank you for believing in my students and investing in their future.","fullyFundedDate":1768167818172,"projectUrl":"project/empowering-young-creators-with-3d-design/10001425/","projectTitle":"Empowering Young Creators With 3d Design","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Lehmkuhl","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp3557064_orig.jpg?crop=638,638,x40,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1681237049791","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mr-lehmkuhl"},{"teacherId":1734141,"projectId":9989393,"letterContent":"thanks so much for the donations that led to my classroom getting the notebooks, pencils and wobbly chairs that add pizzazz to the ordinary school lessons. \r\n The wobbly chairs have been a huge hit and have allowed students more freedom throughout the day as the plastic backed chairs feel so rigid and unforgiving...even as an adult, when I have to sit in them for prolonged periods...it takes some of the focus of what is being learned and into wondering if I'll ever be able to move again after getting out of the seat. During small group instruction and independent work time, I've seen students stay on task longer and participate more confidently.\r\n\r\nWe've also been using the Grab & Play Reading Games during our literacy centers, and they've quickly become a class favorite. One memorable moment was watching a group of fourth graders work together to practice comprehension skills through a game, they were laughing, collaborating, and deeply engaged with the text without even realizing how much they were learning. These hands-on activities have made reading practice more interactive and enjoyable, helping students build skills in a meaningful way.\r\n\r\nMoving forward, we plan to continue integrating these resources into daily instruction.
