We've only had the supplies for a short time, but they have been used daily. The extra table has been a great place to help my students do small group and make up work. Everyone wants to sit at the table now! In addition to a 'help desk' I did have a small group that earned a game incentive after finishing their work and this was a great place for them!\r\n The power cord and cover has been a useful and safe addition to the classroom. One meaningful moment was watching three students work together to build new furniture for the counseling space. Projects like this help students feel a sense of ownership and belonging within the school environment.\r\n\r\nWhen students first saw the materials, their reactions were immediate and enthusiastic. They were excited by the sensory items, incentives, and supplies, which made the space feel calm, supportive, and engaging. These same items were also used during CCSD Peace Week lunch activities, where students from all grade levels participated in hands-on activities focused on kindness, empathy, and positive choices. The supplies helped create an inviting atmosphere that encouraged students to stop, participate, and connect with peers they might not normally interact with.\r\n\r\nMoving forward, these resources will continue to be used during individual student support, schoolwide activities, and future Peace Week events. Students are currently applying the lessons learned by practicing self-regulation strategies, setting goals, and contributing to a more positive school climate. We were able to secure several script books that students could use to find monologues and scenes. The books are age and school appropriate and have given us a library of material that students can access to find material that they connect with to work on staging and acting.\r\n\r\nI am thrilled to tell you that one some of my advanced students found a duo scene in one of the new library items that they used to compete at the Nevada Thespian Regional Conference. They earned the high score of \"superior\" for their performance and qualified to take part in the International Thespian Festival. Several other students found their materials from these items as well giving them the outstanding experience of competition.\r\n\r\nAdditionally, we were able to buy some paint and art supplies that helped us create our set pieces for our production of The Wizard of Oz.
