With your donation, I purchased lots of colored paper. Paper for making photo copies more interesting. Construction paper of all different colors: pastels to bright to holiday themes. Unfortunately, our school doesn't have a large paper supply, and certainly not in a variety of colors that enhance art projects. These materials have provided these luxury items to my first graders. Additional basic supplies to help my students learn that are very much appreciated were the dry erase markers, laminating pouches, and the Dr. Seuss pencils. \r\n As our school budget has decreased not only are my first grade students impacted by this donation, so will my students for next year. Our classroom has been able to keep all students engaged and motivated to learn.\r\n\r\nWith the flexible seating, students are now able to have a choice of where to sit each day and be able to feel like their learning can be increased by having the opportunity to utilize other forms of seating. Our butterfly pavilion was a total blast for all students. Students enjoyed exploring the lifecycle of a butterly while watching caterpillars go through the stages. We saw all eight butterflies emerge as we watched them in the classroom and then released them to the real world. Having the magnifying glasses has greatly improved our Science center with the ability for all students to be able to view plants, soils, ingredients, and insects at a more in-depth view.
