Because of your generosity, my students now have access to an iPad and a variety of fidgets that have already made a meaningful difference in our classroom. The iPad allows students to engage with lessons in a more interactive and accessible way—whether they are practicing reading skills, listening to instructions, or demonstrating their understanding through visuals and apps. Having technology available at learning stations has helped students stay engaged and take more ownership of their learning.\r\n\r\nThe fidgets have been just as impactful. Many of my students benefit from movement and sensory input, and these tools help them regulate their bodies so they can better focus on learning tasks. Students who previously struggled to sit and attend during lessons are now able to participate for longer periods of time and feel more successful. It has been especially exciting to see students who need extra support gain confidence and independence while working around the room.\r\n\r\nYour generosity has created a calmer, more engaging learning environment where all students can thrive. These tools—including fidgets, visual timers, and a cozy bean bag chair—have quickly become essential supports for helping students regulate emotions, refocus, and return to learning.\r\n\r\nOne especially meaningful moment came during a student check-in when a student who was feeling overwhelmed chose to use the bean bag chair and a calming fidget during our conversation. With that support, the student was able to decompress, talk through their feelings, and successfully return to class ready to learn. Moments like this show how powerful it can be to give students appropriate tools to manage emotions in a healthy way.\r\n\r\nWhen students first saw the new materials, they were excited and curious—but more importantly, they felt seen. Many students immediately recognized the tools as supports for calming their bodies or staying focused, and they took ownership in using them appropriately. The visual timers have been especially helpful in helping students understand transitions and expectations, reducing anxiety and frustration throughout the school day.\r\n\r\nMoving forward, these resources will continue to support students during behavior check-ins, small group interventions, and moments when students need a safe space to reset. As students build self-regulation skills, they are better able to engage in learning, build positive relationships, and make successful choices at school.\r\n\r\nThank you for giving our students tools that support not just their learning, but their emotional well-being. Thanks to your kindness, our project was fully funded — and we've already begun feeling the impact!\r\n\r\nFrom the moment the materials arrived, my students' faces lit up with excitement. The bean bag chairs have quickly become a favorite spot in the room, offering a cozy, calming place to read or work independently. These flexible seating options are especially valuable for students who need a little extra comfort or a break from traditional desks.\r\n\r\nThe books you helped provide have added fresh energy to our classroom library. Students are eagerly reaching for them during reading time, and we've already had thoughtful discussions sparked by new titles.
