It has given them a sense of ownership and pride in their materials, making it easier for them to stay on top of their reading assignments.\r\n\r\nThese organizers not only improved the overall organization of our classroom but also made our reading sessions more engaging. Our standards focus on early America—stretching from the Age of Exploration through the signing of the Constitution—and these resources have helped bridge the gap for both my students and myself.\r\n\r\nSpecifically, titles like \"A History of US: Making Thirteen Colonies\" and \"A Kids' Guide to the American Revolution\" provided essential background information that I integrated directly into my lesson planning. For example, during our unit on the Middle Colonies, I read aloud from \"Ben & Now\". This allowed my students to connect with Benjamin Franklin's life and understand his lasting contributions to the world in a way that a standard textbook simply couldn't match.\r\n\r\nBeyond the books, the United States Flashcards have quickly become a daily class favorite. We start every morning with a review of previous lessons. To encourage active participation, I hand out flashcards to students who engage in discussions or answer challenging questions correctly. At the end of the period, the excitement peaks when we use a spinning wheel to select a state capital; the student holding the matching flashcard wins a prize from our \"treasure chest\". Your donations of America stickers, magnetic bookmarks, and American charms have kept that treasure chest stocked and my students highly motivated!\r\n\r\nFurthermore, your gift of educational games has provided a meaningful \"fast-finisher\" activity. The U.S. History Go Fish game, in particular, has become a hit with my accelerated learners, allowing them to sharpen their historical knowledge while collaborating with peers.\r\n\r\nI am so deeply thankful for your generosity. These resources are not just \"items\" in a classroom; they are tools that spark curiosity and make history tangible for my students. I know they will continue to inspire young historians in my classroom for years to come.","fullyFundedDate":1768700071775,"projectUrl":"project/take-these-10-year-olds-back-in-time/10031242/","projectTitle":"Take These 10 Year Olds Back in Time!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Nelson (5th grade/ Science and Social Studies)","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8652375_orig.jpg?crop=1558,1558,x889,y1272&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1696185685914","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8652375"},{"teacherId":10413123,"projectId":10046461,"letterContent":"It is with great gratitude and appreciation that I submit this impact letter to you for your kindness and willingness to give towards \"Math is \"Fun\"tastic!\" With the funding of the many different math games using things such as dice and cards, kids have improved their respective math skills, along with strengthening their communications skills by working or competing in groups.
